Walked in before the dinner rush and got take out. It’s a nice space and the staff is friendly. Ordered a few tacos to go. Rather than doubling up on the tortillas, it was one thin one so it was extra messy. The zucchini blossom was mush. My search for good Mexican food in SLC continues.

Simply incredible Mexican food. I am in town for three weeks for American Red Cross orientation and training, and I have been sampling different restaurants while I am down here. Yesterday was Mexican night. I discovered Taco Taco in the Utah Downtown magazine, and immediately got myself over there. On the way, I got lost, and called the restaurant for advice on how to get there. The employee who answered the phone explained the grid system that makes up downtown Utah, and now I understand it pretty well and haven’t gotten lost since. As for the food, it was out of this world. I couldn’t decide, so I asked the server what they would recommend. They gave me a few recommendations, and the Al Pastor burrito stuck out for me. If you like pork, do yourself a favor and get one of those. Just FYI, Al Pastor is derived from schwarma. It’s made from pork instead of lamb, though. It uses the techniques that the Lebanese use for their gyros, but with a Mexican twist on it. The pork is usually marinated in dried chiles, various spices and pineapple.Anyways, out of this world food. Just simply incredible. I wish I lived here, so I could eat here once a month. At least I know it’s always just a five hour’s drive away!

Blah tacos. Really not impressed with the flavors and the price for what’s essentially street tacos. Bland. They are trying to do more upscale cart tacos, except they don’t do them as well and are priced too high.
