This place was a nightmare. It always looks so inviting when driving by, so we decided to stop in. Asian food is pretty hard to mess up, especially noodles. The Lo Mein is spaghetti noodles with brown sauce. The Chow Mein is strange unappealing gravy topped with crackers. The restaurant smelled like cigarettes and was poorly lit with fish tank lights. And to top it off they charge like fifteen dollars a plate.
We love it here! Especially after discovering the half price sushi happy hour. The rolls are huge and delicious!!!
Wonderful Evening. My husband and I were impressed with the atmosphere at Asian Star from the minute we drove in. The parking lot was full, but we followed their signs and parked next door. The building offers impressive views and great atmosphere. We were greeted by the manager who wanted to make sure that everything went well with our evening. Our waitress was a gem who made sure we were well taken care of during our stay. I had the Walnut Shrimp and my husband had the Kung Pow Chicken. Both dishes were excellent, my husband is still raving about his Kung Pow. He says that he is ruined for eating elsewhere. We will be back to savor fantastic Chinese again!
Very poor experience. Extremely poor experience. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. 30 minutes later we ordered and 30 minutes later we received cold hot n sour soup. I guess they were consistent with the 30 min increments, but hot is in the name of the soup- it seems they could get that part right. About an hour went by and then the cold entrees arrived. We addressed the issue to the manger and he accepted no responsibility. Next time your in the mood for some nice Chinese send $50 to your favorite charity and go grab some Panda Express (yes, I just said that) down the street. The world and your sanity will be better off.P.s. the parking is terrible. Add another 30 minutes.
Stay away! I took my family of 6 here on New Year’s Eve. Knowing it would be busy, we made reservations for 6pm. Got seated at seated at 6:30. Had our order taken at 7:00. Got cold food served at 8:00. We boxed up our food and left. I realize restaurants are busy on holidays but the slow service was inexcusable. Any restaurant taking reservations knows how many people are coming and should be prepared to accommodate them. I will never return here and recommend you don’t waste your time and money here either.
Horrible parking!. Great food on a Friday night. But valet parking is a joke! It took 20 minutes to get our car! Maybe they were understaffed…but after we got our car the parking lot was still jammed with cars and we couldn’t get out. My wife had to ask the valet to move some of the cars so we could leave! So….plan on plenty of time waiting for your car if they are bust!
LOVE. My husband and I love Asian Star!! I was surprised to see the low star rating. We eat here a few times a month. Everything always tastes really fresh and not quite as heavy as some other places. They are VERY vegan friendly too!
