The first time I tried a small serving of prime rib and it was very good. It was cooked more than I hoped for but it was delicious. I have no memory of the rest of the food and do not think that I ate much of it. $Pricey! The second time was a complete and impossibly bad disaster. I wish I remembered our waitresses name so I could praise her for her ability to maintain her composure while providing flawless service on what she said was the worst night of her serving career. Two of us both opted for a steak that the server bragged was her favorite and best received among all of her customers. I believe it as an aged prime new york strip. I can not remember what order the problems happened in but after the third steak was no good, I gave up and was full of potatoes by then. (I was not charged for the bad steaks, by the way)One of the three steaks that I attempted to eat came out as a pair. One for me and one for my guest. Both had a string of grizzle that went through both of the two entire steaks. You could not cut with a saw blade steak knife! One of the three steaks I started on was cooked two levels past what I had asked for. If it were one level, I would have eaten it but two levels was just not fair to pay for. Thanks to the petite waitress who deserves applause for her performance, it was not a terrible and horrific experience. But it was pretty bad!I can’t afford to go back. It took way too much of my time and money while leaving me completely unsatisfied.I’m sure your experience will be better but I can not seem to bring myself to return to this pricey place.
Last night my husband and I finally had a night away from the baby. We went for the first time to Carvers knowing it would be very pricey, but we had gift cards and planned to pay the difference. We arrive and we are seated. We don’t order expensive wines. We just wanted a really good dinner. Both my husband and I felt that our waiter did not think we should be there. It was really an awful feeling to eat with. If you want good food and service that appreciates you then go to Market Street Grill!
Poor Service, mediocre food. The steak was excellent, and actually came out rare. The remainder of the meal was just mediocre. As far a being attentive, the service was actually good, it was the server that was poor. He acted put out that my husband & I wanted to split a dinner. There were 4 of us and we ordered an appetizer and drinks so were not being cheap! Then when the bill came he had added a gratuity – I have never heard of a restaurant automatically adding a gratuity unless it was for a large table… not for a table of 4. I had a bad experience last time I was there – my steak was overcooked and I was told it was the lighting! I heard they were under new management and decided to give them another try – they struck out again – when I go out to dinner I expect to be treated with respect – and especially when I spend that much on a meal. I will not return
