Great food friendly service. Been coming here for the past year definitely a go to place for Chinese. The environment is very clean, service is friendly and food is awesome. I would recommend the pon pon chicken, hot and sour soup and plump juicy homemade potstickers (none of that frozen stuff) definitely worth a visit of you haven’t already.
Great Chinese food. I’m not a huge fan of American Chinese food but this place is pretty good. I think the location is a bit odd (semi attached to a mall?) and its not easily noticeable but it was worth going into. Its actually very spacious inside. General taos, pon pon, sesame, and sweet and sour chicken is really tasty stuff. Their flat noodles are also good. I like that their veggies aren’t as under cooked as other places.
Shrimp Ball. Big fan of this dish in general, was surprised to see this on the dim sum menu (since they are not in season yet). I ordered it anyways and the outcome was subpar just like the others. I liked this better than the other dim sum items we got, but do I like it enough to order it again? If I have a craving for it, to the point where I’ll settle for decent/okay tasting shrimp balls.09 May, 2011Pork buns. I didn’t try this, but my friend did and he said that the pork buns had no flavor.08 May, 2011Har gau (Shrimp Dumplings). Pretty much the same thing I said with the ‘siu mai’ dish, would be added here. Microwavable replication of the har gau you could buy at the Asian market. The way it came presented just didn’t look like it was made fresh. Stay away from dim sum at Sampan.08 May, 2011Siu Mai (Pork Dumplings). Subpar dim sum compared to others around town. Pretty sure this dish was not made from scratch. Flavor was bland, and it was like those microwavable dim sum dumplings you can purchase from the Asian market. Don’t come to Sampan FOR the dim sum menu.08 May, 2011Salt Baked Calamari. Definitely would come back for this dish. Crispy, flavorful with the right amount of salt. Highly recommend.
Pretty good flavors. The Sandy location is consistently better than the other Sampan locations as far as flavor and freshness goes. Service could be faster and is rarely very friendly, but the crowds seem to stay away so it’s usually a quiet place for a chat. I rarely go here anymore but I used to love their spicy-sweet Mandarin chicken.
Love the Kung Pao Shrimp.
Go Go General Tso. I love Sampan’s General Tso’s chicken dish. My kids have even come to love our visit to Sampan, whether dine in or take out. Their miso soup is also very good.
This place has really gone down hill. Really inconsitent and service is slow
