A disappointment. While I have ventured to Chinatown shortly after the grand opening, it now appears several shops are vacant, others appeared quite empty. We went to the CHinatown Buffet for the first time and honestly the last for a meal over twelve dollars I certainly expected better, the best part was the mongolian grill and at the the selections were limited. As to the rest, the fried calamari was horribly rubbery and well I stopped trying to eat it. most of the flavors seemed off. nothing taste right. Even the hot and sour soup missed the mark, I will say the staff was friendly I am just sorry to report the food just wasn’t up to par. I hope we don’t lose Chinatown but things were looking pretty sad on this visit.
Pretty good for a buffet. I go here for lunch once a week, sometimes dinner. I take things to go and it always prices out very nicely and gives me a good selection of things to munch on. It’s a buffet so don’t expect anything mind blowing. People who expect mind blowing food from a buffet are setting their expectations too high. If you want a decent selection of treats at a low price, I recommend taking their food to go. If your one of the gluttonous who piles plates high and pigs out, you’ll find a decent selection. Remember, it’s a buffet not a five star restaurant.
Honestly, this was the worst Chinese food my husband or myself have ever eaten. It is buffet style, and we both left food on our plates to be thrown out, something we never do. The only part I actually liked was the chocolate ice cream, which is sad for a Chinese restaurant. We just moved here from out of state, and went to the China Town Buffet because it was easy to find; the next time we have a hankering for Chinese, we will read reviews and pick another place.
EWWW…. My children and I do not recommend this to anyone!! The food tasted old and rotten. I’m not one to write a review on somewhere but I had to this time. The only alright thing there was the Mongolian BBQ. That was the only thing that could stay down. Not a good place to eat at all not for the price I paid.
No.. Perhaps it was a bad day for the restaurant. But whatever the case, both my friend and I thought the same thing: there literally was not one solitary thing that was good. Very disappointing.
Very Good Buffet!. A few weeks ago, I read some of the reviews about Chinatown Buffet and several were just average, so I decided not to try it. However, one day around lunch I decided to try it anyway and the food was really good! In fact, I would say this was one of the best Chinese buffet places I had ever been to. They have this mushroom chicken dish that was excellent, and all the dishes were very good. I went there from 2 pm to 3 pm or so and the place seemed fairly busy for that time of day.
Great food compared to some other Chinese buffets. We have twin 1 year olds and the staff was very friendly and accommodation with us. Will definitely come again!
