We went there twice this week. One slow and one busy night. The service was great both nights. The servers have great recommendations and really care about your experience. The food was terrific. Best in the Canyons area!
Great service at the bar. Came in for simple soup and drinks.
Expensive disaster. To start, a 3 top with no reservation was seated immediately before us and although we had a reservation for 3, we were asked to wait 20 minutes for our table. Once seated, we were offered water and the waiter, who was very nice, explained the specials, one of which they were out of, then left without asking for our drink order. I did manage to track him down a few minutes later to make certain we could order our cocktails. We ordered two $16 beet salads which were good, but tiny. Then the real disappointment began. 45 minutes after we ordered, we finally received our entree’s on very hot plates than had obviously sat beneath heat lamps. The sturgeon was good, the trout was void of flavor and the $33 fried chicken with a 1/4 waffle was bland and obscenely overpriced. I have traveled extensively for both pleasure and business and go skiing every year in at least two resorts ranging from Vail/Beaver Creek, Aspen Snowmass, to Big Sky and Jackson Hole. We know the higher the elevation, the higher the price tag, but the ownership of The Farm restaurant should be ashamed and embarrassed. The food is mediocre at best and the price of the dishes represent a lack of understanding of a discerning customer base.Needless to say, we will not be back to The Farm. There are simply too many very good restaurants n Park City that eclipse this place on every level….food, value and ambiance. As a footnote, with all of the choices for ski vacations out there, our family of five feel that there are much better options that offer a better experience than the Canyons. Not only did they screw up our pre-purchase lift ticket package for 3 people, put our child in the wrong ski school class, charged me for a full day lift ticket that we didn’t order, we ended up stranded on lifts, due to mechanical issues, 3 times in 4 days for more than 15-20 minutes each. The Canyons has a lot of bugs to work out. This will be our last visit.
The Farm is a very good restaurant. It is not a great restaurant. I have had dishes that I found delicious (pork belly, Shepards pie) and ones that I found ordinary (salmon, rabbit confit). The wine list is decent. The staff is attentive and seem to enjoy their jobs. I will dine here again but I am less excited each time.
Over priced, boring. Farm to table, great idea. Unfortunately, the food does need some attention in between. Especially at these prices! Our food was bland and boring, nothing fresh and/or creative, which is how I would describe the service, ambiance, and overall vibe. The restaurant looks like it serves boring ski lodge food and we thought it tasted on par with that assessment. Too bad.
Oh My Gosh That’s Good. That’s what we said all evening as we tasted each new item. We tried a few soups and the smoked salmon. Oh my gosh that was so good! The rib eye and lamb were cooked to perfection. Oh my gosh! Peaches in a jar and this chocolate oatmeal dessert that was..you guessed..sooo good! The staff was so accomodating. I was chilly and one of them found a small blanket to wrap around my shoulders.(So nice) The meal came out quick and we just felt like the whole evening went perfectly.
OUTSTANDING!!!!. Service was GREAT. We, NY food snobs had the salmon and the flank steak, and they were just great. Bill for 4 including a bottle of wine was only $200!!! That’s the Park City price equivalent of a Happy Meal and a large soda. My 9-year old daughter loved the steak and the kitchen was very accommodating in making slight menu adjustments. WOW. Will definitely go back.
