Like Papusas? Try this place!. This is a quaint, hidden, affordable place to eat Salvadorean food and baked goods. They are very tasty and filling. My family was full after only two papusas each. This place is worth searching for. The easiest way to get there from the east is to pull into the former K-Mart parking lot, go forward, completely to the building, then turn right. Take the little street a short ways until you get to a little strip mall. It is at the end of the strip mall just across from an apartment complex.
I used to go to this family’s restaurant when I was a small child and I remember vividly, the food is as good today as it was 15 years ago. My preference for salvadorean food even with my grandmother in town from the home country of El Salvador.
Had the combo; pupusa con loroco, tamal de chipilin, pastel de puerco, yucca frita & empanada de frijoles. Salvadorian Horchata!
Rincon Salvadoreo. OMG! i’m not Salvadorean, I’m from Mexican descent and this place is Amazing! the best Pupusas i’ve ever had ever! and the breakfasts are great too! Authentic, home made! and i believe they have baked goods as well.. Restauran Buenisimo!
Authentic and tasty. Skip the Pupusas (boring) and go straight for their outstanding Pastelitos. I go for those and their tasty Fried Yuca plate alone. All of their items are very authentic, but some a bit strange if you aren’t use to them. Their Plantain Empanadas are very odd to me. But only because I’m used to the more savory South American version. Try them if you are daring. They come two ways. The Bean version is sugary on the outside, refried beans on the inside (tastes a little like sweet potatoes). Their vanilla pudding version is very sweet and sour, personally a bit too sour for my liking. Whatever you get, try washing it down with a bottle of that oh so sweet Kolashampan. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place itself has a fun atmosphere and a lot of character with flags and El Salvadorian posters in abundance. You could call it a hole in the wall, sure it could be a bit cleaner. But it is a unique experience in the state. Worth a try for sure.
Salvadoreno = Muy Bueno!. Rincon is seriously a hidden treasure. The owner is the chef and he is friendly and makes great food. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I had the Carne Asada plate. The steak was well seasoned, the beans were amazing and the fried plantains were delicious. The handmade tortillas were also an excellent treat.Give it a try, you won’t be sorry!
