Stopped in for a late breakfast and the place was pretty busy even at 10:30. Stuck with the usual favorites, pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Overall it tasted fine. My bacon was floppy and limp, but my friend’s was very crispy. Pancakes were pretty dense, but good sized and tasty. Portions were not outrageously sized which is nice. All of the servers seemed friendly. Ours was very nice, but distracted by talking to her regular patrons. Some might say this falls under the greasy spoon classification, but our food was just tasty and not greasy at all.
First time trying this place since I’ve lived here. My husband got here before I did so he was already seated. Upon looking over the menu I got my failsafe the Patty Melt and my husband got the Pastrami something or other. I LOVE pastrami but my rule when trying new places that offer a patty melt is to get that. The waitress was not too friendly just very matter of fact during our talking, I never even found out her name. We got the order in and while waiting you can’t help but look around. The place is pretty dingy, like they need a few good days of deep cleaning. Our food came out, I’d say in 10-12 minutes and was very hot. The fries were good, very crisp but the patty melt left something to be desired. Maybe some seasoning? The meat was very flavorless and bland. Not juicy, overcooked I’d say. My husbands pastrami was the thickest cut I’ve ever seen. He offered me a bite and I gladly accepted. While it was a tad hard to bite through since it was so thick it had a good flavor. I’ll give this place another try knowing that the service will be terrible and they’ll still need to clean their restaurant.
