Would pick this place over Texas Roadhouse any day! So much quieter! Kind service. Refills always coming. Will be back!
On Cornbread and Hot Wings. If you are going to serve cornbread muffins…. PLEASE make sure they are not welded to the paper cups. This renders the cornbread (except for the top) inedible. Both time that I have eaten at Famous Dave’s the cornbread was inedible. The hotwings were ‘interesting’. They reminded me of quail or pigeon wings in size. The sauce was a combo of BBQ sauce and buffalo sauce. Not a bad combination, but and odd one for hotwings.30 Dec, 2011Great food, bit over priced. The ribs were fantastic. The briset was very tender and tasty. Coming from Texas and eating at places like Rudy’s, I was sceptical, but I was impressed. The decor is nice and we got seated next to the fireplace, which was a welcome treat on a cold night.
Franchise food. Visited tonight. Service was marginal as server did not bring refill when he asked and I said yes…no refills on water…The corn was barely edible as it was so soggy and mushy. The mashed potatoes ( yes I wonder why I was eating mashed potatoes at a BBQ restaurant) were not that good but typical for franchise. My wife liked her ribs and cornbread so it was not a total loss.
It’s hit or miss with this place. Some servers are on their game, others not so much. I liked it cause I LOVE barbecue, but you pay full price refills on sodas. That’s a bit of a rip-off.
If you want a quick bit to eat of bbq this is the place. But! I still like pats better.
This place is great! Portion sizes are worth the money. The smoked salmon appetizer has great flavor. The pork/ribs are fantastic! Also for dessert try the brownie or pecan pie.
Mmmmm good! If you go before 5pm you have early bird options for 1/2 the price. A smaller portion but still plenty. St. Louis ribs, brisket, chopped pork sandwich and cornbread are my faves! And peach lemonade!!!!
