I really like this place. For six bucks how could i ever dream of a better bowl of soup? I agree that some of the other pho places in town use better meat, but the overall flavor at Pho99 is better IMHO.

Gamey, no frills Pho..but pretty good. Pho 99 serves massive bowls of straight-forward and authentic Pho noodle soup. Their bowls have less meat and more noodles than care for, and they use a very gamey meat, but it’s still pretty good. The gaminess adds to the feel of an authentic noodle shop in Vietnam. And Bo Vien (meatballs) don’t cost extra here unlike most other places around. Their fresh spring rolls are pretty good, though their peanut sauce isn’t as sweet as others and I’m not a big fan of it. Overall their prices are a bit lower than some other Pho places in the area. Probably because of the low overhead, since this place is run by a friendly couple. And the place is a hole-in-the-wall, with very little decor or character to it, but it’s an okay place to go when you want to go off the grid. Their attached market also has many Vietnamese food items, including everything needed to make your own Pho at home.

Simple food at good prices. This place has the normal variety of Pho, and a menu of other Vietnamese and a few Chinese dishes. The Pho comes in very large bowls, and you can get more greens upon request. Don’t let the looks of the place deter you from enjoying a good cheap meal.
