When you order a steak in Salt Lake City you expect a decent cut of meat cooked to your preferred doneness, most definitely when that steak comes with a minimum $40 tab attached to it. This steak was that. However, ALL the sides need some sort of revival or the Cook needs better training. The roasted cauliflower was hardly cooked and mostly onion, the roasted corn was burnt corn pieces with bacon and other indistinguishable bits swimming in vapid warm cream (?), and the parm risotto was simply cheesy mush. Yuck. The dessert was nearly a recoverable end to the meal and would have been a save had it not been so ridiculously small. For a hotel restaurant, where the patronage is hostage to what the hotel makes available, I pity the hostages. Please, walk two blocks east to the nearby mall. There you will find multiple choices of fare where they have perfected the craft of food preparation.
This place isn’t bad. It’s basically a hotel restaurant but one I wouldn’t mind eating at a few times. Not sure that I would pay $40 for a steak here but I am staying in the attached property and all in all the food is decent and the service is good.
