So Disappointed! Tasted like it was straight out of a can or a box. Pork, Chicken..Taco, Enchilada, Burrito…even the Nachos were Mediocre @ best. We had plenty to choose from, we were hungry. Too bad.
Living in Ca. Missing the authentic Mexican Food. Man oh man we’re we happy! Ask for the hot salsa? Chile rellenos so yummy! Grilled corn!!!
Fantastico! Finally…. I spent 26 years in San Diego eating great Mexican food – and both of my children live in Mexico. Walking into El Gato and hearing real ranchero music was startling… and the food is fabulous. The Barbacoa was tender and flavorful, and my Chile Relleno was perfect. The Dirty Old Man was one of the best drinks I have had in a long time too!! Don’t miss the Tres Leches cake for dessert. Overall amazing experience for some real Mex food gurus. We cannot wait to go back and eat again.
Terrific place with good service, comfortable ambiance, and the food is really good!! What’s not to like!! :))
Jalapeo tequila drinks were great so go there Wednesday evening for the drink specials but the food is really sub par. It’s plain and tasteless. I even tried it twice just to make sure I didn’t like it and I was just really unimpressed.
Really wanted to love the food at El Gato. Disappointed. Our server was great, but the food was pretty one note flavor-wise, I expect more depth of flavor in Mexican food. Also, their tortillas are not made in-house. Looks like we’ll be going back to Madera’s.
Decent food and quite affordable. The food is good considering how affordable this place is. The best selection of Tequilas I’ve ever seen.
