What a pleasant surprise to find this Italian gem in VT. Best Prosciutto and Mozzarella this side of Italy. You must try this place! Very happy we stopped.
Best Italian Food Period.. I had the pleasure of eating at this fine establishment along with speaking with one of the owners, Nancy. First of all the entire staff was very friendly. You feel like family when you walk in the door. First item I had was the pizza. Any expectations you may have from a pizza that has made from scratch, dough, sauce, and made fresh daily Mozzerella cheese will be blown away by the pizza I tasted at Al Ducci’s. This is as close as your going to get to Italian Pizza without buying a plane ticket and flying there yourself! It starts with a melt in your mouth dough, baked to perfection. The sauce is not too sweet, and not too sour. It is seasoned perfectly. Made fresh daily cheese topped with fresh basil (optional) makes this pizza a refreshing eat, rather then a feeling like you ate a greasy mess, pizza. The next item I ordered was the eggplant parmesian. Now I’m very picky about my eggplant, and rarely order it. If it is not cooked just right, it’s either a slimey mess, or a chewey piece of garbage. Al Ducci’s knows what they are doing here. Their batter is not to crunchy, and with fresh mozzerella, homemade red sauce, and perfect seasoning, you can’t go wrong with this dish. We ordered a loaf of baquette that was very tasty. This is something you’d only expect from a high end NY bakery. Last we had a cannoli and a cup of cappuccino. The cannoli was fresh, and very good. The cappucinno was excellent as well. If you are in the area, you’d be doing yourself an injustice by not checking this place out.
All I can say is wow. This place is a great family-run Italian cafe. The food is better than most Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. I would go here again in a heartbeat. 5 stars
