Drove into town tired and hungry Sunday night wanting a good meal. No reservation but staff was very accommodating. Busy place and we soon realized why. Food was very good and reasonably price. The complementary Maple butter and cranberries fritters were a good start. Excellent value.

Always a favorite. We ate here during our girls’ shopping weekend….and once again, settled in for a sublime experience. The ambience of the historic inn is so relaxing and comforting…and the food is wonderful. I have purchased the maple butter (in a mason jar) to take home with me. I had the cidered chicken and LOVED it, and my friend had the ever popular lobster mac and cheese. The last two times I’ve eaten here I’ve seen my servers out on the town the following night, and each time we reminisced like old friends. Either I’m memorable or they’re really friendly…..I’ve also had occasion to converse with the owner in sharing a picture of my 88 year old mother on the lap of one of his servers, and his reply was hilarious. So….five star dining with a welcoming atmosphere…it was always be a stop for me when I’m in town.

Classic, Old Fashioned, and worth it! Stopped by tonight for dinner with my wife and mother. Great cocktails menu and wine list! I recommend an Old Fashioned with Knob Creek. Your meal includes bread, cranberry fritters with maple butter, salad, and a lollipop! We had Mac and Cheese, Spicy Seafood Penne Pasta, and Shrimp Scampi… All delicious! The atmosphere is like going back in time, to a simpler time. Just a great place and I would love to go back!

An odd restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of service and food. The duck with blackberry sauce was prepared perfectly and rich with flavor. Others in the party enjoyed their meals. Recommend for adults of all ages.

Charming New England Tavern. I loved the look on the inside of this place, it was very quaint and charming. After we ordered we were given some cranberry fritters with maple butter. I liked them very much but wish they were hotter, they sat for awhile. The maple butter was a treat. The small caesar was just the right size for me but the dressing could have been a but zippier, maybe it needed salt. I had the prime rib with vegetables and mashed potatoes and a side of horseradish cream sauce. The prime rib was excellent and the best I have had in a few years. The veggies could have been hotter. For dessert we shared the chocolate walnut pie which was very good and not too rich. I would go back here, it’s great comfort food and great atmosphere.
