South Station Restaurant and Trolley Tavern are located on US Rt7 in historic Rutland Vermont. Back in 1894 Rutland citizens used the cities trolley system for most of their transportation. those trolley's back then were stored in "the trolley barn". That trolley barn was remodeled into South Station Restaurant in August of 1982 and has been part of Rutland fabric for over 30 years. Billy and Charlie have owned and operated South Station for over 6 years. We specialize in preparing farm fresh Vermont products that are locally raised and grown in the Green Mountain State. We believe that local partners are the way to create lasting relationships. The diversity of our partners is what makes our restaurant thrive. We are proud to partner with Cabot Cheese, Green Mountain Truffles, Thomas Dairy, Local Vermont Maple Producers, the Parker Family, Vermont Farm raised Beef and Poultry, Vermont made Wines, and freshness fish shipped in from Boston Fish Market 3 times a week, to even notable Vermont Artists. The Art hanging in our dining rooms come from beloved local Vermont Artists Peter Huntoon and Linda Durkee. And try our Famous Sunday Brunch, Lunch or Dinner daily or Litefare menu in the Trolley Tavern, plus daily Chefs specials. Trolley Express Luncheon Buffet serving on Mondays and Thursdays (11:30-2 pm) 12 hot entrees and salad bar all for $9.95. Full Service Tavern with large assortment Martinis, specialty drinks, many Vermont craft draft beers, and large wine list. Then finally, our Bakery Stop has final touch with signature desserts made on premise. Plus large groups do not upsets us, just call ahead, we have banquet rooms accommodated any special events
