This restaurant wants to be fine dining, however, their waitstaff needs additional training. I was ready for a classy experience but was disappointed that the server had to be told everything and did not try to upsell anything. Absolutely no recommendations or enthusiasm. Chicken parmigiana was too large, average and bland, needed crushed red pepper to make it have any flavor.

Excellent experience. My husband and I recently spent a sunday evening at Pulcinellas for the second time. The first time was a couple years ago when the restaurant first opened, and we were not incredibly impressed. However a friend convinced us to try again, and we were not disappointed! Our appetizer, cheese-stuffed olives was superb! For my entree, I had the lemon chicken, which our server convinced me to try over the chicken parmesan, was fabulous. My husband had the Pagliah (?), a creamy pasta with nuts, and was also very happy. Our waitress was also excellent. She was friendly and helpful, and did not make us feel stupid for asking many questions about the menu. She recommended a great bottle of red wine. When we were curious about the restaurant and an upcoming wine dinner (which we would have attended had we lived in the area) she was enthusiastic, telling us she had attended a lot of them, (waitresses attending wine dinners? Fun!) and hoped to see us at the next one. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. We hope to return when we are in south burlington again. Wish it was not such a drive from barre! Although avoid the booths if you are full figured, we asked to move because it was quite a tight fit.

Mixed quality. Caprese salad lacked flavor. My husbands calmari were good.

My favorite place for Italian in Vermont, if not all New England. Portions are perfect, prices are reasonable, staff is usually superb.

My new favorite restaurant!. This place is a real winner. We had delicious food and our server provided us with excellent service. Once inside, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Looking forward to going back many, many times. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Substandard. My wife and I had been to this restaurant on 2 seperate occassions, and found both times we werent very impressed. the wait staff is very good, and the atmosphere is average, but the food, especially this time was lousy. We were there just the other day, my wifes lemon chicken dish came out with cold risotto, and wasnt very flavorful, she stated she couldnt even tasted that there was lemon in it. I had their version of chicken saltimboca. Terrible is all I can say about it. I wouldn’t go back again after 2 disapointing dining experiences.

Delightful. Food is wonderful, service is fine. the owner/chef richly deserved the local iron chef award the last two years in a row. we eat there often.
