  Horrible, outdated, dirty. You can tell upon walking into this place, it hasn’t been cared for in a long time (that should have been our clue to leave). You may find the owners drinking at the bar, which we did and found it very unprofessional. Our table was greasy and still had someone else’s crumbs, the napkins were faded and two had holes/tears. Our drinks were poured into a dirty, spot covered glass (they need to update the dishwasher or adjust the chemicals). The food was of poor quality, this may have been good at some point but they gave up! My trip to the restroom was no better with what smelled like a dead rodent in the woman’s room, water covering the counter and paper towels on the floor. At the end of our poor dining experience the establishments manager and some staff members also sat at the bar for cocktails. This sealed the deal, we will never return.

  Very disappointed. We went to Charlie B’s @ Stoweflake for dinner after enjoying the fall foliage & the Stowe Arts & Crafts Festival last weekend. The dining experience left a lot to be desired. When we were escorted to our booth, we arrived to find the table covered with crumbs. The hostess apologized for the mess & cleaned up the crumbs. When she handed out the menus, they were dirty & contained the daily specials for two different days. Mounted to the ceiling above our booth was a speaker playing Top 40 music too loud for a restaurant setting. We asked our server to turn it down, which she did, but the volume was raised to it previous level shortly thereafter. I ordered the St. Louis-style ribs & fries and they were good, but not great. My girlfriend ordered the crab cakes, which were OK, & the mash potatoes were bland. My girlfriend’s mom ordered an 8oz. steak & mashed potatoes. She said her steak was good, but again, the mashed potatoes were bland to the point of tasting like instant potatoes. Her man ordered the same dish & his steak was chewy & the mash potatoes were as bad as the other mashed potato orders. The server wasn’t as attentive as we would have liked, but the server was covering quite a few tables, so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.It’s safe to say that we will not be going back to Charlie B’s anytime soon. If any restaurant needs an overhaul, this is one!
