Great if you are gluten free. I was very happy with my birthday dinner at Harrison’s. The gluten free menu seemed to include at least half of the regular menu with little or no variation. Both soups of the night were gluten free as was at least one of the entre specials. What a treat to have several choices and to be able to order one of the specials of the day as conceived by the chef. Unlike many restaurants where gluten free seems to be an after-thought, the menu at Harrison’s seems to have been conceived with at least some thought to creating dishes that are safe for wheat free eaters. My potato encrusted arctic char was delicious and my husband enjoyed his steak. The only thing that would make it better would be an additional dessert option. The only gluten free dessert was ice cream.
Stumbled upon this gem. Sometimes you just find a great place without the help of apps like this. Service was excellent, food outstanding. Had the pan seared red snapper that was perfectly cooked with a glass of the wine of the day. Frozen mocha cheesecake was outstanding.
Looks good but…. The ambience is really great, the decor is neat but the service was not amazing. My burger was not too good…The food quality does not match with the classy nice environment you have. Will not go back…a bit of a rip-off. Maybe for a drink it is okay just to enjoy the bar but i won’t touch the food.
Popular but average. I had wanted to try Harrison’s for a while. It can be hard to get a reservation there at times. We went with a group for an occasion, and I thought the food was decent, but overall not as good as I was expecting it to be. The restaurant is below street level, and it is not a big place. There are so many other choices in Stowe with better atmosphere (even views) and food quality that surpasses Harrison’s.
This is definitely one of the best choices for upscale dining in Stowe. High end food with pub atmosphere. Great!
We both had fish. The arctic char was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful along with the mashed potato and beat pure (the little cubes of pancetta made the difference) The tuna was very good. Oh yea, the clam chowder was delicious. I will definitely eat there next time I’m in Stowe.
The food was excellent we had the mussels for an app and prime rib for an entree. The martinis were great. The service was less than spectacular.
