Bought two wraps, a stuffed baked potato and two drinks for $23. Not bad wraps, a little on the small side but good for lunch. The baked potato wasn’t of the greatest quality but still ok to eat. Did not have the pleasure of meeting the owner like all the other review.
BAGEL NAZI. There is an older gentleman who owns this place, but I wouldnt call him GENTLE! Seriously I felt as if I was watching the SEINFELD show about the SOUP nazi. Remember that segment? Thats him, right there at the Stowe Bagel. I had a gift certificat that I paid for and I wanted $15.00 worth of bagels and he wouldnt give them to me cause he didnt have that much left (2:30 pm on a Sat) Makes no since to me..I want my money back for my gift cert..this guy has a bad rep! he is mean to his employees too I hear..Tell everyone DONT GO TO THE BAGEL! my new quest! going to get a bumper sticker!
Went midmorning..after waiting through a long line due to one older slow gentleman working register and paying for coffee and sandwiches found there to be NO coffee at all. They hadn’t even noticed or started any fresh. Sandwiches were mediocre at best. They are always hiring on CL because no one can stand working there.. Meet the owner and you’ll know why -was very rude to us. They exist purely because they have a monopoly in town, not because of their food quality.
Bagel Stowe, AWFUL. This place is horrible!!!! If I could give it a negative star rating I would have. I was staying near by and went in on Friday 11/19. First, the coffee tasted hours old, and I never had to wait sooo looong for a latte that my wife said was a cappuccino not a latte. I guess they don’t know the difference!!! Bought a pumpernickel bagel with butter and it was not a pumpernickel bagel at all. Just because there’s carmel color in it doesn’t make it pumpernickel. I also bought a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel for my wife and it was cooked in the microwave and was on an under baked bagel. she said it had the consistence of rubber. It was so gross that my wife took one bit and through the rest out, as did I! I bought a loaf of Challah bread because i was away from home and they were the only ones in the whole town that made Challah. The loaf i got was under-proofed and under baked. I usually make my own once a week when I’m home so I know why it looked the way it did and had the density of Styrofoam! The staff was some of the most unfriendly people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. They were rude and cold! After waiting for several minutes to be acknowledged, when my order was finally taken they acted as if i was interrupting whatever it was that they were doing. And that my order was much less important when compared to whatever it was that they were doing before I had arrived. In short if you enjoy overpaying for horrible food and being treated like someone with the plague then this is the place for you. If not then I suggest the bakery across the street. They have a much better atmosphere, food and even though it’s just as pricey at least I felt like it was worth the money. The next time I visit Stowe I will be sure to avoid The Bagel!!!!!!!!
