Wonderful food, great waitstaff, and just plain fun!!. We’ve been to Carmello’s at every location they’ve been since they first opened. They have wonderful food, awesome, polite waitstaff and the owners and chef George are beyond amazing. We went tonight for our 44th wedding anniversary – a special time. Stella greeted us and we had a wonderful, polite and fun waiter. We ordered an app and then had our salad and our entree – the specials of the evening. . .salmon – cooked to perfection and also the filet mignon, which was also grilled beyond perfection! George, the owner’s son, has truly added some wonderful additions to the already above standard menu. He’s creative, thoughtful and aims to please. This is an outstanding family restaurant. . . .great for fun events like book clubs, office luncheons or bridal showers. They will accommodate your every need at a very fair price. Love this restaurant and hope they remain open for many, many more years. It’s a secret in Charlottesville. . .shhh, don’t let the secret out. . .We always want to be able to get a reservation!!

We moved to Virginia from New York and Carmelos is definitely comparable to the restaurants there. We love going there, the food is always above and beyond good, the service is wonderful and when my kids come to visit, that’s where they always want to go.
YUCK. I would never go there again because both scampi and gnocchi did not taste well. In fact, they were horrible and I haven’t even eaten my meal. We also were never asked whether the food tasted good or not…There are many Italian places in this town that are much superior than this one.I don’t think they should be even classified as Italian restaurant.
Carmello’s. Rumor is that they left the old location and are relocating soon.

Visited for dinner and lunch. Well prepared food with a good variety of choices. Very good marinara and bolangese sauces. Veal is very tender. Only con is that service is a bit slow even when there are few customers.
