So much better than before!. Like the other reviewers below, I previously had a bad experience at this Caf in the past. But when passing the other day, I saw a sign in the window saying it was under new ownership. I love Tropical Smoothie’s menu, so I decided to try it again.There is a new owner, new staff and new attitude that make this place a pleasure to visit again. I went for my usual Chipotle Chicken flatbread and tried the new Island Green smoothie. Unlike previously, the staff were cheerful and pleasant, the service was fast and the food and smoothie was as yummy as I’ve come to expect from other Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s.If you haven’t been in recently, I recommend you try it again. You’ll want to try this out – and you’ll notice a Big Difference!
Pathetically slow service. This is a franchise purchased by someone who has apparently never worked in the service industry. The guy literally walked away from a line of customers and disappeared to the back for over 5 minutes before returning to take orders. And then did it again! If you’re on a lunch break from work, don’t expect to make it back to the job on time. Food is ok, but with dozens of other restaurants within a mile, there’s better alternatives.
Disappointed…manager/owner ruins it!. The owner is quite rude and inappropriate with customers and staff. Horribly slow.
Awful!. I came into the Charlottesville Tropical Smoothie with a positive attitude and was immediately turned off when I was ignored as a customer. I was the only person in the place and the man looked at me and went off to clean something. After a 10 minute wait (WHILE I WAS THE ONLY PERSON THERE) he finally came to take my order. I had a promo deal which he refused to take and my smoothie was watered down! I am very disappointed with this establishment and would advise you to take your business elsewhere. This place does not care about their customers or the quality of their smoothies.
Worst Customer Service. There was only one person in front of me and I literally waited in line for twenty minutes. The man who took my order came off as rude and then I had to wait another 15 minutes for my smoothie to arrive. The smoothie was not up to par considering the amount of time I had to wait. I’ve been to many Tropical Smoothies and the smoothies at this location, in comparison to the others were watered down (at least the one that I was given.) I will not be returning to this place.

Could they be any slower?. Food and smoothies are decent, but the service is so slow I hate going there. Two people or ten people, doesn’t matter, expect to wait. They seem to have little sense of how to operate a volume business. Half the time there’s a line with no one at the register. Once I spent half my lunch break just waiting to place an order. Then I waited again to get food. Avoid if you’re limitd for time.
