The excellence: Staff, environment, atmosphere.Not so good: Drinks were delicious, but for $10 each, way overpriced. You could, if you wanted to, make the same drink at home for 50 cents.Food: Terrible. My wife and I have been to Italy, and that food at Vivace was Alpo. Chef Boyardee would be embarrassed. Not to even mention the price. That food was like something you scrape off your shoe.
Good staple. Given what we have to choose from in tiny Charlottesville, we are learning to appreciate Vivace more and more. May take a little experimentation to know what is good and the service often delivered by recent high school grads may sometime require patience, but the food is steadily good. Recommend highly the mussels appetizer. Orecchiette is also good. It’s not a bargain, but I generally do enjoy the ambiance and food.
