At first glance, this tiny restaurant might seem underwhelming, but what it lacks in size it makes up in quality. The summer rolls and house pho both seemed smaller in size than in most other Vietnamese restaurants, yet I was pleasantly surprised with the fully packed taste. The summer rolls were small but dense in meat and flavor. But the house pho was just amazing. Usually beef pho is just has a couple pieces of sliced beef, but here I kept finding more and more slices of beef as I got further down the bowl. The House pho, while smaller in size and with a little less in noodles, is just packed with meat and garnishes. This smaller bowl will fill you up with the extra amount of sliced rare steak. The only drawback is the dining area is so small you feel a little too close and cramped in with other diners. Oh, and they charge you for to-go boxes.

Third visit….. Nov 2015New item …. Pork Belly Sandwiches … Excellent!Second visit for Pho. And was I not disappointed. Their broth reminded me of the Hanoi Beef Soup at Little Viet Garden in Arlington (God I miss that place). Pho here is excellent. Had the loaded meat selection and the tendon was so gelatinous it melted in my mouth. You wont be disappointed.Next trip…. the sandwiches….09 Mar, 2013Best summer and spring rolls in area. Cant speak highly enough about their spring and summer rolls. Tried tamarind roll rally nice. Main courses were also very good – chicken lemongrass with fried egg and rice as well as pork vermicelli. They have a variety of hot sauces including two that were homemade. Lao beer to wash it all down. 48 bucks with tip for three.

While the imperial rolls were excellent, the Pho was only good. The meat was excellent, but the stock could have had more flavor. Also, the service was not great. I never got a refill on my water, not even once. While I’d recommend this place, don’t have super high expectations about the service.

Outstanding!!. Customer service was excellent, Hanh really took care of us. The starters (summer rolls, imperial rolls) were fresh and flavorful. I chose the Sloppy Viet-Bo Bam Banh Mi (sandwich) as my main course. I was not disappointed! I’ve had a taste for Banh Mi ever since seeing it on Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. The crusty French bread, basil and fresh herbs came together well with the red curry beef. I like that the location was off the beaten path from other Old Town restaurants. I’d call the dining area quaint and simple…I wouldn’t recommend groups of over 4-5. Also, the Thai ice tea … well, let’s just say I could drink a whole bucket of that stuff. They also had these diced thai radishes, pickled in their own house concoction…delicious! Sweet and vinegary at the same time. I’ll definitely be going back … oh, and they do take out as well!
