A very special concept, serving salty, sweet, and savory crepes! Very well presented dishes and the taste is really really good. Loved the ambiance of the place too.

Fontaine is a small eclectic restaurant just off of King Street. I usually tend to visit after walking around a bit from dinner at one of the other local restaurants to make room for dessert and coffee. Their dessert crepes aren’t very big or overly sweet. Just enough to satisfy the after dinner dessert craving. Overall, Fontaine’s crepes are ok, although their selection is a little limited compared to other places. When I do go I tend to stick with the Grand Chocolate.

Very good breakfast. Great Iceed coffee. I ordered breakfast bruschetta. You could taste the olive oil with the eggs, it was great, only one piece of bread though. My husband ordered bella crepes, strawberry with nutella. It was great, it was small. The crepes would be good to split as a dessert bc of they are not big enough for meal. Overall it was great, fast service, outside eating available.

Been here often because they are very consistent and quality and flavor of crepes and fresh french baguettes. Had Sultan crepe with lamb sausage with lentils and feta. They have French movie night on Thursdays!

Will Return. Visiting a friend in DC and we came to Alexandria for brunch and little shopping at some of their fabulous boutiques. We chose Fontaine and were very pleased. We had the savory crepes as we were going to have something sweet elsewhere. I had the Farmers Market (Sauted Zucchini, fresh spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and Feta cheese) and Normandy Royale for my cocktail. My friend had the Norwegian (Cold Smoked Salmon, caramelized onions with Cream frache) and Kir Royale cocktail. The crepes come w/ side salads with red wine mustard olive oil vinaigrette. Every thing was delicious. The food, service, drinks, (and weather) was great. Yes, it deserves a return visit so we may get the sweet crepes next time.

The food was alright, not spectacular. We were forgotten and it really put a damp on our day. I don’t think we will chance it again for $40 for a light breakfast. Chart house is a similar price for brunch and it’s consistent not to mention two blocks away.

Good food, poor service. Hostess was extremely rude and would not even give us an estimate on the wait until all in our party arrived. We were told at the end of the meal that they could not split the check (bad business since they did not make it clear up front). The food is fine, though nothing to write home about. Too bad the poor experience soured it, because it had potential.
