Wonderful fried green tomatoes. Chicken was perfect! Kids wouldnt let me have my gnocchi it was so delicious. Only thing is I would love an expansion of the kids menu with a pasta or salmon so they would not eat mine.

Live Oak while a bit loud improves on the location previously called Monroe’s by offering an excellent food and wine experience with a Southern bent. One of the best appetizers was the venison carpaccio with cherries that was outstanding, although the portion was a bit less than i would have wanted. Followed up with braised short ribs with grits and celery root. Wine selections were really interesting. I hardly ever find the Sicilian wines from Planeta (except at the excellent Osteria di Nino in Shirlington) and they have two of the whites here. Worth a try.
