It’s the best!. My wife and I have been to Alexandria twice and ate at Nando’s Peri-Peri twice! The food can be pretty spicy (so beware) but it is absolutely delicious. We love the Peri-Peri flavor and their use of it in all their dishes is surprisingly creative. I got the standard Peri-Peri chicken with sides and my wife got a salad. The Zonnebloem wine was a great complement to the meal, as well.

Although people may think of nandos as overrated, it’s definetley on my top ten favorite restaurants list. The food was delicious, with great spices and flavor. The workers were helpful and kind, and portion sizes were just right. I am surprised at the bad reviews and will visit nandos again.
I’m surprised by these negative reviews, I’ve been to this Nandos a few times and have always had good food and service. It’s not gourmet but its delicious, grilled chicken and solid sides at good prices. Staff here are very friendly- someone often on post to open the door and greet. They are great for catering, organized and very friendly and accommodating. Seems kid- friendly.
Unpleasant – would not return. We tried the place based on a friend’s recommendation. From Texas, we had not heard of it. Happened to be visiting Old Town/King street and decided to stop in for lunch. Menu was decent…basically a grilled chicken place with various sauces of your choice. Decor and place was unique and nice. After ordering at the counter the main adult entrees we ordered a child’s meal. The optional sides were not appealing to the child so we asked for a substitution and offered to pay the cost difference for one of the pricier sides. The cashier said it was no problem and did not charge us the difference. After we sit down another worker, manager or otherwise comes marching to our table demanding to know who asked for the substitution and went on to reprimand us for doing so. When we explained we had no problem paying the difference and had offered to do so we suggested she speak to her employee who rang us up not us…she then brought us the food and again warned us that the type of substitution was not allowed…almost as if advising us in the future. Give me a break lady, you are in the service restaurant industry and crying over maybe $2. The salad wasn’t even good and neither was the chicken. Rice was dry. Fries were good. Good luck with repeat customers when you provide that type of service.
Had higher hopes. Server was sweet but awkward. Cashier was rude. Food portions are small but on par with pricing I suppose. They served my daughter a moldy apple and there were large chunks of burnt potato from the botton of the pan on my plate. The sauce is fantastic and the chicken was very good. Sangria was full bodied and very flavorful.
