My daughter and I have been customers of viet flare since they opened years ago, place is small a bit outdated bit ok being in this area. We walked in today for some pho and not once did someone rushed to cater to us and gave us water with no ice which we had to request for. A Nice gentleman walked in and the famale waitress jumped up and provided this man with a special dipping bowl and fish sauce. Mind you there are no fish sauce on any of the tables, and he did not request for it however she took the liberty of giving him the full service treatment and bringing out what he did not request for. I am an asian american and was born and raised in America, I have been to asia numerous times and what I see is the of course serve the man as well as possible. I have witnessed this before but hoping that now days women get treated equally. Not my choice of place and not giving the thumbs up for service. … pho is great however
I’ve been here quite a few times… But stopped going after getting shrimp that weren’t cleaned properly a few times. Mediocre pho.
Very good Pho and easy to find parking without huge traffic issues. Nice variety of rice and noodle dishes too.
Amazing. This is one of the best places to eat in Alexandria. unlike many of the other Asian restaurants in the area the staff makes you feel extremely welcome. There are often children (I assume of the owner or employees) that give a pleasant, but never obnoxious, family like atmosphere to the experience. And then there is the food itself. This restaurant was my first experience with Vietnamese food, and I have never found another place that comes close to measuring up. The crispy spring rolls are an absolute must every time you go there. They are always extremely hot, and crispy with the most deliciously moist filling of pork fish sauce, and carrots that you can imagine. If you go and order nothing else you will leave happy. The entree’s are excellent as well. The Pho is the most flavorful I’ve had anywhere. After my first Pho experience here I have since tried many other Pho places from Alexandria, up to Silver Spring. The accompaniment are extremely fresh, the basil seems like it may have been picked that same day, and the bean sprouts are always super crisp. Apart from the Pho i would also recommend the rice dishes. The house special rice dish is one of my favorites, however it is a big meal. The stars of the plate are the pork sausage, the julienne pork, and of course the bbq pork chop. The addition of a perfectly cooked egg to the dish makes the short grained Vietnamese style rice sing. Pho Viet Flare offers all of this world class ethnic food, at prices that make them financially competitive with the McDonald’s across the street.

Super friendly staff, quick service even with a packed dining room and some of the best pho I’ve had in the area make this one place I’ll return to time and time again. When we went we were seated at one if the last tables in the small dining room and our order was taken in less than 5 minutes and our food came less than 10 minutes later. Nothing fancy or showy, just awesome pho and barbecue pork.
Fantastic Pho and summer rolls. Very economical (a rarity in Alexandria). Excellent service and very friendly, especially with regulars.
