Today, Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016, I decided to have takeout from an Italiano Restaurant, Pines of Florence on King Street in old town Alexandria, VA. I have been there once before for the same thing. You get your order along with a complimentary side of bread. I work less than two blocks away and was craving some chicken ceasar salad. I went to pick up my food and walked back to work. When I got back to my desk, I opened the brown paper bag with bread, and before reaching my hand in I noticed a cockroach. I gasped, thinking I was seeing things. Two of my coworkers peaked in to see what I was freaking out over… and they both freaked out, one of them confirming my horror- commenting that it was indeed a cockroach sitting on top of a piece of bread. I closed the brown paper bag and stapled it shut. I returned to to the restaurant with my entire order letting know what my issue was. They offered to replace my meal, but I declined and asked for my money back. I know that if there is one roach, there are likely to be many, many more.
