The atmosphere was good, our waiter was okay, not very friendly and didn’t listen well either, bringing out the wrong entre for 1 of the two of us at the table. Service was good. We had the crab cake sandwich, calamari, and pecan crusted trout. I wasn’t a particular fan of the grits and subbed them out for potatoes and I’m glad I did, it was fantastic. The price was a bit high for the food but that’s expected in a tourist town.
Great Family Dining. Went to Union St. Public House while wandering around Old Town Alexandria with our daughters over the Christmas season. It just looked like a great place for a cozy meal on a cold night, and it was. Walked in through bar, which looked quite festive, but not for a six and eight year old. Sat upstairs in a cozy wood enclosed booth.I had the short rib pasta, which was fantastic! Seasoned perfectly, and everything seemed really fresh. My one daughter had a delicious cheeseburger & great fries. My other daughter, who never eats, ordered the mac & cheese. I’d like to say it was so amazing she ate it, but instead I will tell you it was amazing and I ate it. Well, when I wasn’t fighting my husband for it. This restaurant is a great place for families with kids who want to sit and have a relaxing meal, as long as the kids will let you of course. Great place to take the parents when they are in town.
Good atmosphere. Decent tap selection. The oysters at happy hour were really tasty.
Bad Fish & Chips. The worst Fish & Chips I’ve ever experienced! The cooking oil from the batter absorbed the paper and then became one with the fish, it was unsitely and uneatable. The wait staff had a hard time trying to find the table and never asked how the meal was, it was evident they knew the meal was poorly prepared! DO NOT ORDER THE FISH AND CHIPS
Good beer … good food. Union Street was a bit too expensive for what it was, but it still provided good beer and good food. Recommended, but a bit pricey for a tavern of sorts.
Rip-off. Don’t go on sundays. The food is average at best, and the drinks are absurdly expensive ($10 for a bloody, almost as much for a virgin). Service is lacking.
Super bad service from waiter in bar. Never asked us if we wanted refills. Instead of running him down went to bar and bought refills. He noticed but then even more seemed to ignore us. Mentioned to management and they seemed to care less.
