Hate to admit it… But I love sweet frog. Best froyo I’ve had in Richmond, and they were kind enough to open up shop shortly after I first learned of froyo near Virginia Beach.They’re relatively mild with their religious crap, but their Sunday hours suck. I’ll continue to hunt for alternatives when I need froyo on Sundays, but if it’s any other day, I’m going to Sweet Frog.UPDATE: The door says they open at 1:30PM on Sundays, so either that’s new or we always drove by after lunch before then. Good news either way!
I just don’t understand… It really is an adorable concept, and I totally get why kids love it. However, this is not grown-up ice cream, it’s simply lousy frozen yogurt piled into self-serve cups spooned with every topping imaginable. The flavors aren’t great, and covering it with every topping known to man can’t save it. I’d rather have quality ice cream or gelato any day over this inferior frozen stuff. It’s over-priced crap in a cup, no matter how you defend it. Add to the fact that nobody realizes how much that self-serve cup weighs/costs until they get to the register just makes it the best scam ever.
Started an obsession. Before Sweet Frog our only experience with Froyo was at TCBY… and that explains why we love Sweet Frog so much!!!. The first bite started an instant obsession that has led to us devouring Froyo in every city we go to. Delicious and addictive. No hot fudge :(. I have been several times. The place is always busy. There’s usually no place to sit with the exception of when the weather is nice and outdoor seating is the best. I love the self-serve setup. The toppings bar is amazing. Vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, cake batter, and cookies and cream ate definitely some of the best flavors. If I had complaint, it would be that I wished they offered hot fudge instead of just chocolate syrup. Overall it’s still delicious and addictive.
Amazing!. Sweet Frog is an amazing restaurant. Last night we went out to dinner to a terrible place in Cary Town and the only reason that I would go was because I was promised Sweet Frog afterwards. I love how they allow you to get your own ice cream and toppings and it is really cheap as well…. However, we noticed that all of the little kids were getting way more ice cream than I got and so much that they were never going to eat it. So if you are going there for the first time, remember it is off of weight so only get as much as you are going to eat.
Addicting, best ice cream deal in Midlo. Ok, so its not the over the top most wonderful dairy dessert on the planet. But its tastiness per dollar beats the pants off of anything else. I can STUFF a bowl full of ice cream, cereal, chocolate, fruit, nuts and nearly any other topping and come out costing less than a small at most other places. My only complaint is the cleanliness. Understandably, its tough to keep a place clean when you have non-stop business.Go, you’ll find yourself there a lot.
