Thank you Melissa M. I would like to thank Melissa M for posting her comments about whathappened to me and my cousin at Cassatt’s on March, 21, 2012. (ThoughMelissa thought that we were mother and daughter going out for lunch,we are cousins.) The event that Melissa described was very painful forme. All I was able to say to the manager was that he was being veryrude… I have been wanting to write to someone about what happened. Ithink Melissa has spoken for us and would like to thank her so much.(Thank you Melissa!) The manager was very rude and should have knownand understood that some people are unable to sit in the small tablesfor two that his restaurant offers. A handicapped person simplycannot move in small spaces with a walker. My cousin should not havebeen asked to move to a space that she could not negotiate safely andcomfortably. The elderly and handicapped should be treated withrespect and be given reasonable accommodations to their needs. Insteadof treating us with kindness and respect, Cassatt’s created anuncomfortable and unpleasant experience-all to make a few more dollarson one afternoon. I hope that they come to understand that when youtreat people badly, they will decide to spend their time and theirmoney elsewhere. I will never go to this restaurant again and Iencourage others to find different restaurants in the area to support.
Whatever you do, don’t go when it’s crowded. Went for Father’s Day brunch. No line, but every table was full, and the kitchen was entirely overwhelmed. Food took over 40 minutes from when we ordered, and of 5 dishes, 2 were missing their sides. Servers were perfectly polite but not noticing missing sides is a problem. My breakfast quesadilla was incredibly salty, but honestly the real problem was the kitchen’s inability to keep up with orders.
Brunchy. Definitly the best brunch place in the area. Whether you want eggs and sausage or a tasty panini at 1:00 on a Sunday, this place has it. The portebella benedict is amazing, and the everchanging original art hanging on the walls gives you something to look at while you wait in the long lines that fill the entrance on weekends.
Begal and lox, soooo good. Took 15 mins but worth the wait. Great shops around to spend time. Place was packed, even on a weekday at 10am.
Disorganized staff, good food. My husband and I stopped in the shopping center here for Starbucks, but decided to grab a bite here before heading into town. This was brunch time on Saturday and the sidewalk tables as well as the back deck were full, and the inside was about half full. It took well over 5 mins to get us seated, each person who approached us needed to ask someone else if there was space on the back deck.Once we were seated inside we ordered a ham and cheese omelette to split. We received our food promptly, and the omelette and sides were nicely split between two plates. The omelette was fresh and tender, not dry and puffy like some, the ham was not lunchmeat. The fruit side was very fresh, and the bubble and squeak was tasty, but a bit mushy/no browning. A crisp slice of multigrain bread topped it off. Once we started looking for the bill, our waitress was nowhere to be found. Another one came by to clean a table and when we asked for our bill, she seemed a bit offended by this request. She left for a few mins then told us the computer was locked up, then the manager came by awhile later to run our bill manually. I think this could be a really great neighborhood spot, if only the staff, which appears to be a group of college students headed up by a sweaty, overdressed scatterbrain, could get their act together. I would like to come back to try some regular menu items, but I would have to keep some patience in store for the waitstaff.
Love the food; hate the service. They are so inattentive! I’m trying to hang in here with these folks because I want to support them, but it can be so frustrating.
I’ve been here for brunch a couple times and enjoyed it each time. Along with the good food it has a nice neighborhood feel. I’m also happy to see Cassatt’s still thriving since starbucks moved in next door.
