Probably the best Mexican food we’ve had since we left SoCal. Tonight was the best grilled fish tacos I’ve ever had and a tender and delicious carne asada with delicious cheese enchilada. We’ve loved everything we ever had here. But it can get very busy with hour-plus waits at peak times.
Great find. Happened to be walking by and stopped in. I had been traveling al, day and was very hungry and thirsty. Hd great service and the food was good. A little pricier than Mexican food I typically purchase, but hey it’s DC. Would eat there again. Great atmosphere, just not a quiet place.
Outstanding still!
Bland and salty at the same time, wow. Chicken enchilada’s were full of meat but had so much salt that I could not finish. Too tired and they were too busy to send back. Good service and waitstaff fast but busy and could not check back. Beans they have are smokey but no other taste. Salsa of roasted tomato was oily and bitter.
I’m obsessed. So there can be a long wait sometimes but calling ahead and grabbing a swirl and chips at the bar usually makes it bearable. I love their guac, chicken soft tacos with fresh tortillas, shrimp fajitas… I pretty much love everything about rio.
Bad Happy Hour Spot. If you are looking for a deal on your food and drinks and need a place to relax after work this is NOT the place to go!I am constantly researching the restaurants in Arlington so I can take advantage of the best deals. The Uncle Julio’s in Arlington has specials but they aren’t a good deal (spend $8 on a margarita instead of $9… yippee?). This Uncle Julio’s is constantly filled with family and kids. Not sure how much you can let your hair down with 3 year olds running around and crying. The surplus of kids is probably becuase the young singles go where they can get a margarita for $3 and a burrito for half off (worth it).
