We arrived for a late lunch with some 10 folks hanging out in front waiting and a packed parking lot. No matter. We were seated promptly and graciously after they cleared a party of 14. I loved my snapper salad on a bed of greens with raspberry vinaigrette and tossed with blueberries and cantaloupe — surprisingly fresh and yummy. The crab cakes were moist and packed with crab (I ‘borrowed ‘ a bite from a friend), but felt the burger (beef, lamb and something I cannot remember, ordered by a friend) was woefully over cooked– I’d have sent it back. Despite the bustling dining room food service was fast and friendly. Despite the hot day, temperatures on the back porch were fine.
My husband and I loved this spot. It’s secluded and laid back. Our food was wonderful. The waitstaff was friendly. The prices were reasonable considering how healthy and organic the meals were. We will be returning! 🙂
Yummo. As a total foodie, I have come to the conclusion that dining out is only for conveince and not taste. I feel like I can’t even buy a good meal, at any price, because it has become a processed Sysco world. Well not today! My BFF and I celebrated her birthday lunch someplace new to us~The Leaping Lizard. It was a righteous experience. Everything on our plates was make with love and skill. It was just, just so yummo. Then we went door to the bakery for more love. No to mention everyone that took care of us was swell. Maureen & Maryann ESVA
Wait, wait, wait. The food is great at Leaping Lizard; however, when you are told it will be 15 minutes before a table will be available, it shouldn’t take 35 minutes and still no table. Then to find out your table was given to people that arrived after you is just not acceptable! Like I said, the food is great, but the establishment needs to be more respectful toward their customers! Thanks
Hamburger heaven. I have been doing some work down in Norfolk VA recently and decided to stop in at this cozy little caf.I had, without a doubt, the most delicious hamburger that I have ever had in my life.I am heading back down there next week and plan on eating here at least twice.

Hidden gem in Hampton Roads. It was outstanding! We tried numerous dishes and not one of them were below exceptional. I think they grow much of their own produce and menu is reflective of what’s in season. It is obvious that they hire creative chef’s who are willing to try new dishes. You will not be disappointed with giving them a try.
