Best shushi on East Coast. Been having shushi and shashimi made by the owner since 1998 never have had a bad meal. The staff there is the best!
Oustanding!. Outstanding, they are far above all the local Sushi joints. I am truly sorry for those that responded negatively. You must give it another try! I have lunch there at least once a week! The fireworks on the beach roll will knock you out with flavor. Other favorites, Oishi roll, Salmon Dragon roll, summer roll. Their clam soup and winter soup are delicious. If you are a sushi lover this is the place for you. If you prefer your food cooked this is also the place for you. Try one of their Bento Boxes or other items from their kitchen selection.
Somewhat pleased….. Sushi was fine, however the long wait and customer service was below par. ordered take out twice and had to wait over an hour to receive our simple little veggie only rolls. bottom line, good sushi can be found at various va beach restaurants without the headache of slow poor service.
Terrible. We just moved to the neighborhood and decided to try Nara. Not only did it take more than 30 minutes longer than it was supposed to (we had takeout), the sushi was mediocre and the rolls were small and bland. My husband even found a bone in his salmon sushi. We’ve been eating sushi for years, and that was a first. Although this place is 5 minutes away, we will NOT be returning. I recommend Kyushu–it’s a bit further (on Newtown Road right before VB Blvd) but a million times better,
THE BEST SUSHI PLACE EVER. Nara Sushi is way better then any of the sushi places around Hampton Roads. The atmosphere is quiet and very cozy. The service is very kind and the food is delicious. The food is art with amazing taste. This is the place to have you say wow when you leave. Great place and the only place I eat sushi!
Go to sushi. Nara has become my go to place for sushi. Reasonable prices, generous portions, and relaxed atmosphere. Eric does a superb presentation. The fish is always fresh. I really like the Tuna Tataki, Tropical Stack, and Volcano Dinner. There’s so much good here; I can’t list it all. Eric also serves sushi with the option of brown rice, which adds so much to the texture and flavor of sushi. He also serves a Nara shooter for those brave enough to venture past the common saki.
The Best in Hampton Roads!!. Some of the best fish around!!! Eric, the owner has a real grip on how sushi rice should be and delivers everytime!! The location might make you think twice, but once you step inside and try the food you won’t be disappointed!!
