  Non-food item complaint. I dont know what the food there is like, as i have never eaten there, and likely never will.my rant is over the fact that portside feels the need to keep their front door wide open any day, any time. weather it be when they have a band (which is especially loud on the weekends), or karaoke nights (im sure you reviewers can imagine). so, here it is, monday night, at 1 AM, and, again, i was rudely awakened by this bars disregard for the community that is about 50 feet from it.far be it from me to begrudge anyone from having a party. but, i atleast have the courtesy to keep my doors closed when i do it. i get the feeling, that if the owner would pinch a few pennies, and spring for some AC, there would be no problem.i will say, in your defense, that if i call and say the music is too loud, the door gets closed. but, really, should i have to do that on a monday, at 1 AM, after your music woke me up and i have to be up at 6? and this certainly isn’t the first time ive been woken upim going to look in to the city noise ordinance a bit more, and find out what the rules are.

  Food order. Visited on 5/2/12 Had only food order No comments on service due to restaurant was not open fully on 1:30 PM even working hours 12 PM to 1 amOwner offered to come back, that was not an option, to deliver to me free of charge and that was nice of her.Delivery happened almost on time I specified and it was good.The food, steak, ordered medium, was cooked well done, dry, tasteless, was not a steak meat, but some other unknown part of meat/beef. Fries were awful, a table spoon of it, so little that even McDonalds child portion is much bigger. Slow was little, full of mayo, few huge chapped badly lattice.Hamburger, dry, tasteless, side dish the same small, no spice.Absolutely waste of my money and not just couple of $, $50 could buy much better food almost anywhere in VA. BeachWould not recommend to buy food there.

  Love this bar!!. I just wanted to say that I love this bar. And as for the anti-gay comment, totally not true. I’m a lesbian and me and my gay friends frequent Portside Inn often. Good home cooked food, good beer, great service, and good friends. I would recommend Portside Inn to anyone who wants to go have a beer or two and not deal with the crazy club stuff…Love you guys!!!

  Anti-Gay????. I am the owner of Portside Inn. At the time of this incident I was not the owner but was very involved in the situation. First I would like to apologize to anyone who was unhappy with their visit. Unfortunately, the above review is so far from the truth. We welcome everyone! This all started because the couple was unhappy with our menu choices (we had explained we were changing ownership and had a limited menu). When the owner at the time suggested they go somewhere else and eat, then come back for poker, they chose to go to another restaurant, bring their food in to-go boxes, ask for real plates, silverware, and ketchup. At that time they were asked to please take the food out…since of course we are trying to sell food. They got very upset and actually wanted to fight . How this has been twisted to an ANTI_GAY situation is beyond me. Again I would like to say WE WELCOME ALL as long as you are 21 and not trying to cause trouble.

  Anti-Gay. My girlfriend and I went in there to play poker with the league that plays there on certain nights. Long story short she starting screaming at us saying that she hating lesbians. She said that our kind were not welcome. Still not sure why she felt like she was a superior being. Talk about stupid people.
