The food is fine, but the service drags this place down. It’s like living within a sitcom for an hour (if you’re lucky; meals tend to drag on). The father is a friendly dude, pushes liquor on people with such fervency that he must enjoy a taste himself. The teenage son is as sullen as possible, ready to veer into surliness at any moment. The daughter is terrific, a real natural in food service. The only issue being that her (no-doubt jealous) brother feuds with her incessantly. There’s also a terrible blonde woman; no idea if he’s a stepmother or just a hired hand. It might seem unprofessional (no, I’m still not getting paid to write these!) to carry on about these people without mentioning the food, but that’s what WTP is like. The food becomes secondary to the drama unfolding before you. So unless you’re into people-watching or the study of family dynamics, you’re better served by crossing the street.
