Super casual place, set back from the street, so I almost missed it! But, great drink selections and the raw bar menu you can also get steamed too! So good and reasonably priced!
I came here to try local crab legs & it was not really outstanding. The restaurant didn’t look very clean or appealing. Every food was over salted, even the soup. The crab legs were great even though they were salty. I ordered a cheesecake which was evidently homemade, the crust was soggy and the top of the cake was baked, which was evidence of a failed water bath & over cooking. It was a very pricey restaurant for what it offered. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Another one of my faithfuls, but slowly declining. Food was subpar to say the least but the drinks were horrible. I was entertaining family and it was embarrassing.
Fabulous food of every type along with several excellent choices of seafood and also a large beer selection. Both service and food are excellent and consistent. Have been here several times and am never disappointed. People come dressed to the hilt or casual and they are all comfortable including children. Home of one of my favorite comfort foods–oyster stew. No one makes it better than A.W. Shucks!
My favorite restaurant to go to in the 7 cities. The shrimp & grits are the best…well everything is the best. The waiter who resembles Shaggy from Scooby-Doo is the dopest…basically, GO HERE.
First Visit to this Raw Bar. My first visit this pass Saturday. The atmosphere and service was very good and warm. The food was outstanding and I recommend everyone to visit this best secret of Norfolk. Nice get away and good drinks. Wow… I was impressed and plain to visit again this weekend.
Not Bad But pricey!. Staff is great, beer is cold and plentiful. Downside is you pay a lot more for more mediocre seafood than you would get somewhere else. Its a sham because the bar atmosphere and raw oyster bar are cool and the staff really is outstanding. Throw something original on the menu and more fresh and lite seafood and Shucks would be money!A great place to grab a beer after work
