Catering is good but overpriced and small portions. Nic does a great job as chef and the catering is good however this cafe is over priced and you receive small portions. It is definitely a place for a treat meal or go on Th/Fr nights when it is 2 for $12.
What’s not to like about this place? Fresh everything, local everything. Great friendly service and food was good. I’m not even a big meatloaf or collared greens fan but I loved it. Macaroni and cheese uses the bowties and great cheese. Fish tacos were good, all the sides are delicious! The best thing I had though was at the wholey rollers stand and it was a sweet potato pie wow it was soo good.
The whole Norfolk Farmer’s market is fantastic, but my primary reason for the journey is always to visit the cafe. The people are patient and cheerful, and the food is amazing. They always have interesting and off kilter menu items for a variety of dietary needs. The vegan items are clearly marked and the employers are always willing to elaborate for you. It is my first choice when I need to charm out of towners.
Good but not great. We had lunch there. The smoked chicken taco special was good but I have enjoyed much better. The quinoa stuffed acorn squash was much too bland and seemed overlooked. The sides were identical and also overlooked. I don’t think there was any salt in anything. I want to try their breakfast but am reluctant to return.
