We went there for dinner last night. The service was poor (we waited 10 minutes for water and another 10 for our drinks), and we asked for additional bread twice and never received any. The first and only loaf of bread that we did receive was half cooked. Upon receiving our entrees, there was barely any pasta served with my husband’s veal dish which cost $23. Disappointing. I ordered the risotto special, which was good until I ate half of it and noticed the inch deep oil settling at the bottom. We will never return to this restaurant again.
Back again last night. 8 of us sailed in around 7pm – place was as busy as i have ever seen it-omg.we all had a great time again – food was great also. everyone tried something different this trip – first: we tried the antipastro platter -WOW – different, but really great – dinner: the eggplant and chicken meatballs special and the fett. bolognese seemed to be the top winners for our group on that night. – chick. parmigiana second – remember the pear and gorgonzola salad and the tiramisu – great.the one setback was No Mercedes – she was off, but we had Justin – he was great.26 Feb, 2013Dinner Again last friday nite. My group wanted to return again and we did with 11 this time.11 great dinners, 5 bottles of fine wine, 5 appts. of fried calamari, great salads, especially the pear and cheese (?) – the best and i think 6 of the best Tiramisus we have ever encounted in our dining travels.the larger dining area on the side really makes nice work for large groups like ours and again………….Mercedes – might be one of the best food severs i have ever run into in a very long time – thank you for two great friday nites in a row.16 Feb, 2013Friday Night with our gang. Dinner was for 8, but i lost two of my regualars so six of us sailed into La Bella. for four of us, it was our first time, the other two have eaten here a few times.we were greeted at the table by Mercedes who was our waitress for the night. – i will address this later.we had two squid (calamari) appetizer and a special salad of the night with pares and glory – o m g – i forget what they called it, but we all would go back just for that dish alone.dinner: three of us had a special fried veal dish not found on the menu, but it is available if asked and if more than 2 are having it and we had 3 eating the same. the other three had two shrimp fra diavola..(1 with specail spinach pasta) and the other was regular.our friday night eat out gang will be returning to this fine location for dinner real soon.now for mercedes………..some of you know me and know i have had a lot of dealing with waiters and waitresses, but in all my years, i have never met one like her. she was a real treat to have someone wait on you. she knew all and that might be an understatment. next time anyone goes, ask for her and u will see for yourself what a great dinning experience can be.i have added some pictures.
It’s does not live up to the name in Virginia beach. From the moment I walked in with my friend we were treated different because we were dressed in shirts and shorts. In Virginia beach it didn’t matter. We have never gotten so little attention because the way we were dressed. Others that walked in in more dressed clothes were getting more attention. Didn’t get any bread til much later in the meal after the appetizers. The appetizers that came out were mediocre putting the name la Bella’s in Virginia beach to shame! I still haven’t gotten the main course yet so we will see..waiting for te meal I got it and it tasted like it was bland or not cooked or reduced enough with no flavor at all…but thankfully Marty(female) who is the manager made the experience a little more enjoyable and comped the meal for the trouble and discrepancies. If u have any issues talk to Marty (female). She will work with you. I hope I spelled her name right.
I have been to the la Bella in Virginia Beach and had outstanding service but went here and the service is very lacking. We have ordered and as we look around we have noticed that all the table have got bread. It is realy sad when the hostess has to bring you bread not the wait staff.
Terrible. Lousy service and food. If I wanted mediocre Italian food I’d stay at home and cook it myself. And that’s saying a lot when it’s just chicken Alfredo. No seasonings super bland. Service sucked. I ordered a side salad, never got it. Bread was brought to the table about 2 mins before our food. And we were neglected 95% of the time, were never even told about the specials and our glasses sat empty almost our entire meal even though we sat in the middle of the room and were passed a dozen of times. Don’t go I will never go back. And it costs far to much for mediocre.

Amazing pasta, good variety, friendly service. They had the best tomato sauce I’ve had in the area. Amazing dessert selection. Wine selection was mediocre, though, as was the bruschetta.
