Yummy Mexican. My husband and I were very pleased with our dinner here. Ordered Chicken Chimichanga Dinner, and the C.N. Special. Food was delivered very quickly and tasted great! Salsa tasted fresh and chunky! I don’t know about that white sauce though….???

Love this place. I love the fajitas and the atmosphere is similar to Mexican restaurants back in TX. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I am not sure what the white sauce is they offer in Mexican restaurants here but you should pass on that and ask for hotter salsa.

No second trip happening. This is for the Mi Hogar on Battlefield, but I’m guessing the food is the same between the two. But keep this in mind if going to the other location…My wife and I are from Oregon, and Cali before that. We’ve eaten quite of bit of Mexican food. This was one notch short of really bad. She had the carne asada and it was overly thin, tasted like it might have been liver, and was tough because it was seriously overcooked which is no surprise given how paper thin it was. (Thin isn’t necessarily bad, but if this thin it has to be marinaded and cooked carefully.) I had chilequiles; it was downright bad. They used the same tortilla chips that are served for dipping which are totally wrong for chilequiles. As a result mine were pretty much slop within 5 minutes of being served (way too thin, no way to hold up). The sauce was the same as is used for dipping, which is pretty much canned tomatoes that are mildly Dr. Peppered up. I asked if they had a different salsa and our waiter asked if it was too mild. We said yes so he brought us a second bowl that was the same base but with some hot sauce added. He was trying, but there’s no replacement for true salsa.I will give them props for making table-side guacamole. They used all fresh ingredients, and it was pretty good. They served more guacamole on both of our plates and the difference was obvious; the table side had taste and texture.I understand that this is not the right part of the country for Mexican food. My suggestion: don’t fight it. Just go for another ethnicity. There are plenty of good places around. Go to one of them instead.

Best of Riverview (Central Norfolk). The staff is very friendly, food is always tasty, hot and service is always fast. I like their fish tacos and their carnitas, for a change from the usual burritos, tacos and tortillas, but have found all of their food to be good. A lot of neighborhood locals eat here, which gives it a cozy familiar feeling. Building is a former Burger King, and diner-style booths remain, but Mexican art and serapes on the tables make it homey.

MORE THAN PLEASED. I have visited many Mexican restaurants, including in Mexico and California. I would have to say this one of the best in the East Coast area. Its a decent place and the food is good. Its not a luxury restaurant so I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant. But their food is tasty, good portions and very good service.

It’s ok. It’s right by my house so that’s the only good thing about it
