Spagjetti night is good. All you can eat. But the really great treat tonight is the banana chocolate chip cake!21 May, 2012Wing Special. All you can eat wings for $8.00. I handled 15, but had a side salad with the wings. Salad was fresh and the wings were good. Enjoying a black IPA called Great Dismal as I write this. Will definitely return.29 Feb, 2012It’s Okay. First, this is a fun, friendly place to go. Interesting beer selection. Food was good, but not spectacular. I only had a Reuben and tomato soup; the soup was very good. I look forward to trying our their steak special on Thursday. One of my trusted sources tells me the blonde fudge thingy was delicious.
I was visiting from Richmond. Friendly staff. Nice neighborhood hangout. The BLT is worth the visit. My only complaint was the table cloth was dirty . Definetly will come back.
GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD PLACE. OK so it’s gay owned but it really is a neighborhood place and everytime I go there it really is a mixed community with a relaxed atmosphere. One thing I really like is their flexability, I’ve had no trouble with special requests from the kitchen and I have dietary restrictions (I can’t eat wheat). Also, I am disabled and have a service dog. NO PROBLEM 😀 We have both been welcomed each time we come back by all the staff and the owners. I reccomend the soups, they are very unusual and rich. I love the tomato in their special style.I celebrated my birthday there and although we had aat least 10 separate bills for dinner that was not a problem and the service was outstanding. I felt so taken care of all evening. So some may think it’s not the dineing extravaganza that some restaurants are it is affordable, confortable with a menu that rotates seasonally and is inspiring. Sunday Brunch is worth the exra bucks. It is a great neighborhood restaurant.
Picture for Facebook. Actually, I think their BLT would warrant a photo on Facebook – must be a 1/2# of bacon on each sandwich.
With more than 125 individually owned restaurants between this place and downtown, there is some competition for your dining dollar. MJs promotes itself as a tavern (bar), and so they sell tavern (bar) food. Nothing delicious, nothing terrible, but certainly nothing you are going to take a picture of to post on Facebook to make your friends envious. In other words, MJs is not a destination spot for dinner. It might be fun as a bar though! Also, one of our diners had food issues and asked for a slight change to her dinner. The cook absolutely refused.
Went and checked out this place as it seemed pretty happening, was a little surprised to find out that it was a gay bar (not that there is anything wrong with it, but just not my cup of tea). I didn’t stay very long but but did have a few drinks at the bar, where everyone was friendly and the service was good. They have a pool table up front, plenty of tables and a bar area with a TV that had sports on. Several good beers on draft, didn’t get a chance to check out their menu.
