Fantastic. Started off with the escargot, which were done perfectly. I then had a cup of the goulash. For a main course I had the Schnitzel ala Holstein. I have had this dish all over the world, including in both northern and southern Germany. The meal was awesome. I have been there a few times and is the best place for Eastern European food in Tidewater.
The Roast Duckling is Exquisite!. Very romantic and classy. Complimentary fresh bread, sliced apples and cheese to start. Also tried my date’s steak tartare which was wonderful too.
Absolutely delicious!. After being in Virginia Beach for 28 years I have finally gone to a Restaurant I have wanted to eat at, for -ever!This evening my husband and I ate there. We were greeted so pleasantly and seated. Hot bread and cheese and cheese spread came out, hot from the oven. I had a house salad, and the dressing, homemade- was delicious. He had one of their Goulash dishes, they have 3 varieties- and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Cassoulet. I watched it made on TV and knew I would not be making it, but I will tell you, this dish was sensational and a treat for my tummy. There was ham, beef and smoked sausage in it and it was fantastic. The Owner/Chef came out and said hello and I must say this was one of the most enjoyable dinners I have ever had. And the restaurant is very attractive on the inside too. Wonderful art on the walls and nice serene atmosphere.Great music playing- Just outstanding.
Wonderful Restaurant. My daughter and I visited on a Friday evening and a simply wonderful dinner. I had check out the menu online before we went and was fighting myself over the Goulash or the Veal dishes, ending up have the nightly special of Ragout of venison — absolutely wonderful.! The dish came with two airy dumplings and couldn’t have been better. My daughter had another of the specials — a quarter of a roasted Pheasant. Another wonderful dish; the portion was not small at all and the boiled potatoes were the best I’ve ever tasted. For starters I had a house salad with a great dressing and my daughter had the Lentil Soup. Now I’ve made Lentil Soup at home for years and everyone that’s tasted it say’s it’s pretty good but the Monasterys beats mine hands down. Highly recommended. The hot bread served with an apple, cheese spread and Havarti cheese was yummy. We got three different ingredient explanations, from three different servers on what the cheese spread contained and we were warned that that would happen. The service was superb! When I had finished my two dumpling slices and still had a lot of wonderful sauce to slop up the waitress passing by asked me if I wanted addition dumpling slices, which I did, and they appeared almost instantly. Since this was the first time my daughter had ever had pheasant I remarked that it mine taste drier that chicken. Our waitress over-heard my remark and instantly asked if there was something wrong with the dish, she was very concerned. We told her not to worry and really enjoyed our entrees. Pressed for time we were not able to sample the desserts but we intend on returning and trying them then.Lovely place with simply prepared food that I would highly recommend. Can’t wait to return and try their other dishes. A little pricey for a causal dinner but if you want to impress this could be a great try.
Ok but not worth it. Food was good but priceyService was excellentAtmosphere was poor
A bit over the top but good food. My husband asked me to trust him so I did and agreed to go here, when we walked in the over the top stuffy decor turned me off, since I was dress to go to a club not like I should have worn my mink jacket, the waiter’s were very polite and friendly but I found it a bit cheesy and even more over the top that they were wearing bow-tie attire. Regardless of the cover appearance the food was pretty darn amazing. If you are going out with your parents/grandparents this is the place to take them. Oh and fyi its not cheap…at all…
My wife and I went for a romantic date night. Everything was delicious and the service friendly. Will definitely return!
