The service was fine and we were seated pretty fast. The food on the other hand had absolutely no taste and was way too dry. I had the potato chorizo enchiladas and they barely had any flavor, I was very disappointed. Will not be going back, I just know no matter what I order it’s not going to get any better.

I have to preface my review by saying I’m from the land of Tex-Mex, so I’m slightly partial to that and true Mexican food. Surprised to find out that setups aren’t automatically just brought to the table at the Mexican restaurants here. Back home, they’re complimentary. As well as fresh tortillas and relish. Ok so I’ll spring for my standard chips, salsa, and queso. Salsa was ok. Very bland and mild. No other salsas available if you prefer spicier sauce. I asked if they had a habanero salsa and the waiter pointed to the bottle of hot sauce on the table. Boo, hiss. And a little cup of white stuff was with the chips. I asked what it was and told it was ranch. What the heck does ranch have to do with Mexican food? Out comes the melted cheese, what you locals here call queso. Thoroughly disappointed. That’s all it was, melted cheese sauce. No real cheese in it, or spices for that matter. How sad. Enchiladas aren’t available with chili con carne. Not good. The fajitas were ok. Not bad, not great. They looked at me crazy when I asked if they’d throw some grilled jalapeos with the fajitas. They came out as a side, not with. Needless to say, I won’t be back. And this review pretty much covers ALL the Mexican restaurants around here with the exception of Abuelo’s. I hated Abuelo’s back home and it’s my favorite now. I’ll eat there or make my own.

Meh…… If runny cheese covered ground beef and unseasoned chicken is what you’re looking for then they have you covered. If you want Mexican food however I would try elsewhere. (Mexican food usually is not smothered in cheese sauce)

I thought the service was good until I checked my bank account.. During my lunch visit, the food was good and the service was a little slow but overall OK. A couple of days later, I checked my bank account and more was taken out than I authorized. Three days after I notified the manager or the error, Joel, and I agreed on them giving me back the difference and a comp lunch. When I went to the restaurant to get my money and voucher for a free meal the money was given back to me, but they refused to give me a voucher. They tried to give me a meal right then and there, but I had not told them what I wanted so I don’t know what was in the bag.Joel, the manager, took the food to the back and REFUSED to come out and speak to me after they DELIBERATELY took more money out of my account than I authorized. I cannot believe that he is a manger and would treat customers that way, and he NEVER apologized for the error or any inconvenience it may have caused.Plaza Azteca has lost my business. Not so much for what could have been a mistake (which I doubt), but for the HORRIBLE SERVICE.

Big disappointment. I have had Mexican food all over the country and the meal I had was not fit for a dog. First off upon entering the restaurant I was greeted but then left standing I was the only one there. When I asked if I could eat in the restaurant they said yes and put me in a booth. I sat there over 15 minutes before anyone came to take my order. Then I was brought chips and salsa. The salsa was the best part of the restaurant the chips just OK. I ordered the combination Chimichanga crispy and I am not sure if it was regional thing or what but I have never ever had such a bad disappointing meal. They took what appeared to be six inch flour tortilla put a few small chunks of chicken with a little cheese rolled it over like a cigar open with both ends open and burned it on a flat top. The beef was the same as the chicken. My only way to describe these is a rolled up over cooked bad quesadilla. The rice was truly tasteless and the beans with a little cheese on them even more tasteless. I walked back to my hotel where I felt almost as if I had eaten some bad meat. I do not recommend this restaurant even if it’s the only one open.

Why the bad reviews? My fianc and I usually go to the Holland road location but decided on Granby this time since we would be seeing a movie at the mall. It was AMAZING! Our server was upbeat, professional, and very quick with whatever we needed. Our guacamole was fantastic and our food (lobster enchiladas and steak fajitas) was heavenly! Oh and don’t let me forget our STRONG jumbo margaritas! This location was far better than the rest and the service for a busy Friday night was wonderful! We will be back again!
