Stopped in for a late lunch 3 pm. First it was nice it was open this time of day as many places close tween lunch and dinner- I was grateful! Hung out at bar, tried the wine flight- got an extra taste from I believe an owner or manager, who wanted to share his delight with a rose! Patrons were med students, drug reps in nice ties and regular folk in casual summer attire. Small about 10 tables and room at bar for about 10. A few tables outside on porch as well. I had their version of a caprese salad, but the mozzarella was coated with a panko and fried. Nice but under-salted. Tomatoes were beautiful, bright red, and thankfully, not past the too ripe stage. The tuna rare dish was nice, but boring-one day after eating it, as I write my review, I can’t think of anything special. Now the DESSERTS WERE WONDERFUL!!! I had two. The chefs choice which was a chocolate chip chocolate mousse. Perfect consistency. Deep chocolate flavor. Way rich and delightful. The champagne cupcake with lemon buttercream icing was SUPERB! The cake was more the consistency of a moist morning muffin and it did have a few blueberries, the perfect carriage ride for the lightly flavored lemon buttercream. Wow. We enjoyed it very much. I was reluctant to share w spouse. Will 100% go back. Easy parking in back.

Loved it. Looking for a light dinner, we wandered in on a Friday evening and caught happy hour deals on half price glases of wine and discounted small plates. Thoroughly enjoyed our scallops and salsa and gnocchi. The quinoa salad with figs and nuts was delicious and different. Attentive, friendly service from a young but knowledgeable waitstaff. Warm, welcoming interiors in this lovely Ghent neighborhood historic home. Also enjoyed the bluesy music.
TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!. I used to love Press 626 until last night. After buying wine, dinner, AND dessert, and then paying for everything, my 2 friends and I were told we had to leave because they needed the table. Mind you, this was only 5 minutes after signing our checks! We were gathering our things and wrapping up, not like we were there for over an hour after we paid. I have NEVER been told that before in my life and I think it is extremely rude to tell your good, loyal, paying customers to LEAVE! This is not NYC, this is NORFOLK. Sorry to say you have lost a good customer to bad service. Very disappointing.
