Horrible customer service. Never open when they are supposed to be. I came in for a cake to go and there was a sign on the door that said open at 5pm. It was 5:30 and they still weren’t open! I knocked on the door and a server opened the door and said. They didn’t have any cakes right now only drinks. Totally unprofessional and MISLEADING. This place would make a lot more money is they studied what customer service is all about. Get your cakes to go. They are delicious.
Visited with a friend last night, and we each selected a cake for take away. Nice selection of handmade cakes including at least one gluten-free option. A little pricey, as our two desserts came to just over $16. However, my cake (coconut) was easily shareable by two. Delicious! I can’t wait to go back and try another flavor.
Delicious desserts and drinks. I have been to Sassi’s several times for drinks and dessert and have always been impressed. I had Stephanie make a cake for a baby shower I hosted and everyone there just groaned with delight as soon as they tasted it. I like the atmosphere and have never had bad service. I would like to contradict a previous reviewer, I have always seen at least one gluten free option in their dessert case. The coconut macaroons are delcious and gluten free and I have never been there when there were not some in the case. Perhaps she just went on a day that they were sold out.
My husband and I were in town for the holiday weekend and went in for treats after dinner. Unfortunately Sassi did not have any gluten free options and I have an allergy. When asked if we could bring in a dessert from next door so that the rest of our party could enjoy Sassi, they declined our request and so our business. Wow! So kind of Sassi to be accommodating to food allergies!!!
I have called Sassi twice to get information on having an event at the location and both times the Sassi employees where rude and very short. I thought this would be a great place to celebrate my Birthday with tons of my friends however, I will never patronize Sassi! I don’t care how good the cake is. Hopefully the business works on customer service and professionalism so that they keep customers and acquire new patrons. In the meantime, I will tellEveryone that I know in Norfolk, not to patronize this business. There are plenty of places in Hampton Roads that sells wonderful cakes and desserts and have great customer service!
The cakes are pretty good. However the price is listed as $ cheap and it is not very cheap. More like $$ or even $$$. But I’m not sure if that is based on other places prices. Definitely worth trying for yourself!
Sassi – SWEET!. So glad this lady is back in town with her delectable sweets. She’s an amazing baker! Special order cakes are something for everyone to think about with the holidays approaching.
