This was awful. It was my birthday and we wanted to do something romantic…..this is NOT the place to do that. We got the package that comes with the extra appetizer, So we ended up getting in line for the buffet after everyone had taken all of the beef and the rest of the food was cold and way over cooked. Our free appetizer was spoiled beef kabobs and when we complained the manager she just offered us drinks. She didn’t seem too concerned, so I assume she knew the meat was bad. The waitress didn’t bring us a spoon to eat our dessert for 20 minutes. Thank you spirit of Norfolk for making my special birthday dinner disgusting. We are never going back.
It was not a good experience, however my husband and I made it work, mainly because we wanted to have a good time. The food was nothing out of ordinary, the carving station was weak if anything, the slices they served were thinner than a dollar bill… The chicken was ok, the salmon was really bad but the tilapia was good. The dessert was not what I expected, quite mediocre. The drinks, were such a disappointment! Almost $40 for 3 drinks and we didn’t even finish them cause we didn’t like them. Our server was invisible, only saw her a couple of times during the 3+ hours we spent on the ship and one of those times was when she was singing. She didn’t deserve a tip whatsoever, although we did tip her. We didn’t like the music either, it was more like for an older audience. All in all, we are not gonna go back neither recommend it.
