The best Gelato in town.. After a big dinner across the street we decided to pop into Strawberry Fields for desert. This place is tiny, and I mean tiny, and you’ll miss it if you don’t know it’s there or aren’t looking for it. However small they are, don’t be fooled, they have some huge treats inside. Being a first time customer I had assumed it was just another one of these cup cake places that has sprouted up in the area. I was so wrong. Strawberry Fields is a Gelato shop. What’s that? Easy, Gelato is basically Italian Ice Cream.I looked at the chalk board and then at the Gelato in the case and decided on a cup with the chocolate / oreo mixture. Man it was good, it was so good… I found myself wishing I had gone with the pint instead… I know, I know… that pint never would have made it home, because I would have had to eat the poor thing before it melted… The horror of it all.Seriously this was some good Gelato indeed. My date ordered a smoothie called the Green Monster. It comes with Spinach, Kale, Fresh Squeezed Apple Juice, Banana, Greek Yogurt. Interesting mix and I’m sure it’s good, but I’ll stick with Chocolate.If you’re in Ghent check them out. They’re fantastic!
I like to go everyday because they always have something new. Wonderful Gelato flavors that remind me of my grandmother’s homemade ice cream.
Skip Skinny Dip! Go small & local. One of the most delicious things you can ever to hope to put in your mouth! Skip big chains, go with Strawberry Fields. Your palate will thank you! From Mano, coconut cream, plum raspberry, strawberry limoncello, the list goes on…..go try this place, you are looking at a hot spot in the making!!!
I am in love with this place. I live right down the road and visit this place at least 3 days out of the week. Everything is fresh, and the staff is awesome.

Omg the gelato here is amazing! The employees (possibly also the owners) are kind enough to give you as many samples as you want, but don’t worry you won’t fill up. We have bacio (chocolate hazelnut), mango, banana pudding, golden Oreo and straccitella (sp?)…golden Oreo was a delicious surprise. I hope people will skip past skinny dip and try this place, they will not regret it!
I love e this place everything is so good im slowly working my way to try each gelato. I love love looooooooove this place it deff holds up to real gelato in Rome yum… Think I might go today now.
