GREAT SERVICE! GREAT FOOD!. My husband and I, along with my sister and her husband went to this restaurant on Saturday, March 1,2014. The staff was excellent, the food was delicious, the price was right, and the ambiance was really nice. We were trying to find a really nice Italian restaurant since two of our favorite places has closed down. We have found a replacement. The owner and his wife are very nice and personable and talked to the customers to make sure we were satisfied, you don’t experience this type of customer service too much anymore. We will definitely keep this restaurant on our list as on of our favorites.
Terrible food. The service was nice but the food was terrible. No flavor. Nothing tasted freshly made in house. Bag salad, frozen ravioli, and the sauces out of a jar and bland. The portions were VERY small. Not even enough for my normal-weight 6 year old. VERY OVER-PRICED for the quality and portion. Will not return.
Best Food In Town. We drive twenty miles both ways three to four times a month to eat at the Vineyard. The food here is not just a feast for the palate, it is a feast for the eyes. A fabulous menu of tastes that is not to be found anywhere else in Tidewater. The house salad with vinaigrette is a palate cleansing explosion of flavor. Never had bad service, a bad meal, or a tepid plate served to me here. The seafood Cannelloni and Shrimp Christina are to die for! AS for the other reviewer’s complaints, I would suggest that the Vineyard serves food which is simply not bland enough for the uneducated palates of the local yokels. The Vineyard is a very reasonably priced restaurant for a sophisticated gourmand who enjoys being thrilled by good food. Ta, Ta! My wife is waiting – we’re on our way to the Vineyard again.
Quaint location. Near Tide stop at Msc Center. Food was nicely presented. $4.95 to split meals is way out if line, especially with good size portions and high teen plate costs.
Tried to eat here for lunch today. Arrived about 1245 and where seated. Then we were completely ignored for the next 15 minutes before we walked out. There where only 3 other tables occupied and 2 people at the bar.
Would never return, poor service and bad food. I took my husband here for a special dinner thinking it would be nice to try something new for the night instead of an old favorite. 5 minutes to get greeted, another 5 to be seated. Very small dinning room and cramped seating when it’s full had me brushing up on other guests. We asked for one minute to make our drink decisions, but the waiter didn’t come back for 15. We gave him our food order right away in case we lost him again. We’d arrived at 6:30, and by the time the food came it was 8pm so we asked it just be wrapped to go so we could get on our way. They told us it would just be a minute a few times while we waited, but to be honest he never actually apologized or checked in often. Couldn’t believe it took them that long to make it. We had to ask 3 times for more water. They tried to put a mandatory 18% gratuity included when we went to leave. We tried the food when we got home but it went in the garbage. My husband had tortellini with chicken and he said it tasted like a pre-made frozen, and it only had 3 small pieces of chicken in the sauce. I had the gorgonzola pasta and it was completely devoid of any of the flavorful blue cheese – the sauce just tasted like eating straight cream over a dried packaged pasta they cooked. The shrimp in mine were so over-cooked they were mealy. And both our meals were significantly lacking in season, as if they forgot any salt or pepper. I would never waste my time or money again with such poor service and poor food.
I got pizza and lasagna and they were both delicious. Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff.
