This used to be a quality sushi restaurant with relatively poor service but excellent food. They used to make in house salad dressings and miso from scratch. The sushi was high grade. I am assuming the untrained wait staff caught up with them. The service is the same poor quality, but now the food is being downgraded. The salad dressing now has a distinct mayonnaise bottled flavor (not a great thing for a ginger carrot japanese dressing) and the miso no longer appears or tastes like it is made fresh. The worst part is the sushi. The tuna they are currently using is dyed. This is always a sign of very low quality fish and often a sign of a replacement fish (though based on the taste I assume it is still tuna of some sort.) The New York roll was literally dripping red dye and there was a puddle on the plate. The tuna sushi had stained rice but was not dripping, probably because it was not squeezed inside of a roll. You might ask when all of this happened? Shortly after they switched to an all you can eat menu. Caveat emptor; never eat all you can eat sushi. You will not get a quality experience.
WONDERFUL. Our new favorite lunch spot. You can’t beat $12 all you can eat lunch! Great service. Great menu. Great price.
You know it’s good if you don’t need soy sauce!! My husband is working his way through the menu and I’ve enjoyed everything we’ve had. Get here while they’re still doing the all you can eat buffet
Don’t waste your time… I ordered two rolls and tuna tataki.. To go.. They gave me a 25 minute window, however I sat there after arriving on time and sat for another 30 minutes. Once I got the food home I was even more annoyed. They had shoved all of the sushi into a small box, crammed together. The pieces were poorly wrapped so it was almost impossible to pick up with chopsticks. Do not waste your time as I did. There are too many good sushi restaurants in town, even on that same street that are much better. Lesson learned. 🙁
Good Place!!. We went here for the first time and it was great! The server was really nice and the sushi chef gave us some comps since we did have to wait a little while. Overall, the sushi was great, I recommend the Summer Fiesta roll,it was awesome!!
The sushi was good. The atmosphere as well. My server was pleasant and apologetic for the hour it took to receive my sushi on a Friday night in a restaurant less than half full. I noticed others waiting as well. Maybe just an off night.
Me and a few friends randomly stopped there because we didn’t want to go downtown. Awesome food. Awesome service. There’s never anyone in there. Not sure why
