If it looks/smells/tastes like crap. If you think for one minute that the food is subpar from the customers point of view, take it from someone who worked there at one time…it….sucks.the vegetables, deli meats and cheeses for salads and sandwiches are typically Kroger brand grade, the veggies usually sit in the walk in for a month before the kitchen manager lets prep workers deal with them. the smoker is a joke! the meats are seasoned with a strange seasoning they whip up in the same bowl they use to make the dressings and wing sauces. oh.those baked beans? they come in a can, are poured into hotel pans that the dish crew never gets fully clean..then they add ketchup, mustard, beer based bbq sauce, brown sugar, and strips of cheap bacon, then go in the smoker and get drenched in chicken and pork grease from the previous work day. seriously…you can make the crap at home alot healthier, yet you waste money on this place? hmmm…oh..the veggie burgers? theyre frozen. everything comes from SYSCO. in laymans terms, youre eating the same crap they serve in hospitals and prisons. dont waste your hard earned cash on these chumps.

Nothing outstanding but ok. Food was average to above average and the beer was good. I would eat there again but it’s not on my short list.

I’ve had better. Lunch here this week. I pulled up and saw a really nice building with lots of wait staff. Knew right off might not be worth all the hype. I was right. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich with side of beans. I do not usually eat as such but the top part of the bun was kinda hard so ate with a fork. The meat was served dry and for my taste a bit too dry. The first few bites I tried plain and just did not pick up on any smoke. Maybe from overcooked. No pink left in it at all. They have 4 sauces spicy mustard, root beer, original and hot. The original was my favorite. Beans as a side were no doubt from a can and sweet to the taste. The slaw was crunchy and overall ok but think that was processed as well. Overall qty of meat was good but lacking of anything that would make me want to go back. Sandwich and side was $8.50

Blah. Bull and Bones is located near our home so we were really excited to check it out when it first opened. We were sorely disappointed. My wife and I both found our meals to be lacking in taste and had made up our mind that we would not return. The waitress asked for our opinion and we shyly offered up our less than enthusiastic take on their meals. Not long after the manager showed up at our table and asked how we like the food. We told her that clearly our waitress had already told her and we assured her that we were not making a fuss but simply had decided that we probably would not come back because the food was so lacking in taste. She asked what we ordered and then made us a generous offer- she gave us a gift card and asked us to return and order their some of their more specialty dishes- in particular she commended their ribs. So the next week we returned. I ordered the ribs but I don’t recall what my wife ordered. The ribs were horrible (Sharkey’s are soooo much better!) and my wife, once again, said that her dish was bland. We discovered that there was a buzz surrounding the opening of the restaurant but everyone we spoke to shared the same opinion- the food is tasteless and not worth the money. The only exception was a friend who said she discovered a chicken sandwich that she thought was good but other than that, she had been unsuccessful in finding anything she liked. That was a few years back and we had not returned until a little while ago. We felt that surely time would have cured their issues and the place certainly looks very busy when we drive by. We ordered the special of the night, but, once again, we found the food to be bland and tasteless and I think we are now officially done with Bull and Bones.

Get the Ribs. We recently visited Virginia Tech and ate at many restaurants during our stay. this one was the best dinner we had and the Ribs were exceptional. Definately a repeat visit coming. Better than Cabo Fish Taco and others.Atmosphere good also

Bull & Bones has terrible, terrible food. Had dinner at Bull & Bones last week when my brother and his family were in town. My brother insisted on going there because of the recommendation of the hotel clerk. First of all, my brother order some of the homemade chips as an appetizer and they did not arrive until just before the meal did. Then my niece’s hamburger was not right, they left off the cheese; they took the hamburger back and did not bring it out until everyone else was almost done with their meal. Now we can discuss food. My mother ordered the bratwurst and what she got was a hot dog in sauerkraut. I had fried chicken fingers because I thought it would be hard to ruin these – I was wrong. They burnt fried chicken fingers to the point that they where almost black. I am assuming the only way to do this is fry them too long in oil that has not been changed in a while. My brother ordered a barbecue sandwich which was dry and could not be helped because every barbecue sauce we tried had so much vinegar and hot pepper flakes in it that it could not be used. This was one of the worst places I have ever been in my entire life. I have been to restaurants in San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas, Kansas City, St. Louis, Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Charleston, SC, etc. and Bull & Bones must rank up there with the worst of them. And then they have to nerve to charge the prices they do. Never going back there again and will tell other people to stay away.
